Pretty much all good music died after the 20th Century. The only good music in the 21st century was made by people that that made good music in the 20th one, and even still it's not alot because most of them broke up or just lost my interest. The only albums I care about are Bon Jovi's first 3 albums they released this century, Black Sabbath's 13, Scorpions' Unbreakable, and Judas Priest's Angel of Retribution. Possibly a couple of Linkin Park songs but that's about it.
Did you pretty much give up on life at the turn of the millennium? I know some people who were also greatly affected by Y2K.

Mew led the glorious Nordic Renaissance of indie in the mid 2000's with classics from And The Glass Handed Kites. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/um3aQ8UB9HM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yes, I completely agree with you! "Be Yourself" and "Like a Stone" are as well. I always liked "Diary of Jane" back in the day too. Good taste <br> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/QremHCvOG-I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

There's still good music out there... just nothing exceptional, except for genre fans that think their preferred genre is inherently exceptional... And, of course, you have to look for it, since current mainstream is far more occupied marketing mediocrity with a "stylish" image...
People still make music? New music? Without that stupid scratching tin voice effect or screeching non-melodic metal drivel or plodding, uncreative riffs? Who knew?
