I don't know what you mean by "nationality." If you are talking about birth place, Lin is more American than Ted Cruz.
I know no one here really knows or cares, but this is definitely not true. That guy was just tall and got drafted in the NBA. He barely got off the bench for the Korean national team. The greatest Korean basketball player is generally considered to be Hur Jae (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hur_Jae). He was an incredibly crafty and skilled 6'3" guard. He probably could have been a fringe NBA player if that door was open to Korea in the late 80's early 90's.
Well, technically I guess it is a nationality, but Soviet Union was basically Russia combined with some anexed/occupied countries against their own will. Them occupying those countries didn't change the fact that Lithuanians were still Lithuanians etc. For example, 1988 Soviet Union team included: 4 Lithuanians 3 Russians 3 Ukrainians 1 Latvian 1 Estonian I know this might not make sense to you, but to us Lithuanians it seems very disrespectful when someone says that Sabonis nationality is Soviet Union. No one asked them occupy our country take our national development back 50 years compared to the Western Europe. I don't recognize Soviet Union as a nationality.
what the heck happened to jan vesely. seems like yesterday he was making out with his hot gf at draft night.
Dude, I even said he counts as a Lithuanian now. I know Soviet Union was hard on you people, but I think it is fine to categorize him as Soviet Union and Lithuania. After all, majority of his basketball career was played on the Soviet Union national team.
It's a freakish athletic family. 6'9" avg height for his brothers, 6'0 for the sisters of 18 children of his dad with 5 women.
He's still making out with her in Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey where 2011 draft took place.
