Cuban will pay him the max after he's done here.

Kinda think he's hyping up the series for ratings. He's pretty smart.

Reading that I was wondering, who is this reminding me of??.... Then I realized, Chandler (Big Mouth) Parsons! :)

Simultaneously slamming the Rockets, and courting Harden. Cuban is hilarious.

I am so glad the Rockets get a chance to wipe the floor with the Mavs.

Lets not forget its mark effin puban. The guy just likes to talk ish. Remember San Antonio a few years back, he wouldnt shut up until San Antonio shut him up with their play. Now his tail is tucked between his legs whenever they play, just like its about to be after this series.

Examples of good coaches leading less talented teams to the championship?

Cuban is a spin master and a smart guy, but in this case he is speaking with his heart and not his head because we beat them 3/4 without some of our best depth players on the floor and one of the best centers in the history of the game (specifically, from a defensive standpoint) playing at all. I am worried that the Rockets will beat the Rockets in this series, but not at all concerned that the Mavs will beat the Rockets regardless of who is coaching either team. My biggest concern is the FT shooting and the way the NBA has allowed the "hacka" strategy to tarnish the game. We DO have a major problem that good coaches (strategists) will absolutely try to exploit though and it could be our undoing the entire way through the playoffs i fear.

We are predictable, and once you go beyond Harden, we're not a very good team - the numbers do not lie. We've needed a secondary playmaker badly. That's why losing DMO is tough.

But we don't have the kind of offense that sets guys up for easy shots. We depend on individual talent which isn't always a formula for post season success.

Nothing is more predictable than Mark Cuban running his mouth in the press. Boring.

Didn't Mavs play all their games this season vs Rockets on a second part of back to backs? I wouldn't give too much credit to our regular season success vs them. Cuban is somewhat right, Rockets offensive playbook was really shallow all year long, leaning mostly on improvisations out of basic starting sets, it might not work in playoffs. For me, the key to first round, or any other really, is Rockets defense. We all know how bad is McHale when it comes to in-game adjustments, so lets hope we sweep them at home and don't complicate it by going to 7th game. The more games we play the more weaknesses McHale gonna reveal for Carlisle. Make it 4-0. Go Rockets

I don't think Cuban is trying to motivate the non-stars; he is trying to motivate the buying public. He learned from NASCAR that drama = ratings. I was actually looking forward to him taking his usual pot shots, it draws national attention to our intra-state "rivalry." Plus, it's good fun.

How would you know? Or is this just a regular season phenomenon you are referring to?

I've been in verbal fights with many a Mavs fan before games, then after the game, and again before the next game. And, yes, their tears are delicious.
