He gets every little touch and brush call along with the muderous moving screens Perkins/Ibaka are allowed to get away with. Of course he'd be efficient as hell with the space hes getting. Ridiculous article

This is a pretty cool chart/graph! Never would've thought about bubble mapping shooting. I wonder if they kept these up to date and teams used them in their scouting reports if KD would shoot "worse" if forced into his lesser above average areas or even that left corner?!?

I said it when he came out. You don't pass up on freaks of nature with a proven work ethic. No one in the NBA has ever had the combination of physical gifts Durant possesses.

He tested very poorly on all the agility drills and couldn't bench press 185. He is tall and has great skill that is what makes him great, but he isn't an athletic freak like Lebron or even Tmac.

You don't really need to be able to bench a ton of weight to ball. It isn't like the basketball is hundreds of pounds. I'm sure you could make some argument about strength, but I'd argue that the bench isn't necessarily an excellent measure of that, either.

6'10" "guard" with the same reach as Tyson Chandler. That is freakish. Durant never really has to worry about getting his shot blocked.

    No can defend.

Interesting that he hasn't taken one 3 from the left corner. Obviously, his role is as a playmaker as well as finisher so it makes sense he's doing most of his damage in the middle of the court, but zero corner 3s from the left is interesting.

He is the only player that can compete with LBJ head to head which is monstrous in itself. Not that he is on the same level mind you. The amount of moving screens that the OKC gets away with and the ticky tack calls that Durant gets off jump shots on a regular basis is maddening though. You literally can't breathe on Durant.

Upper body strength is way overrated in basketball.
All the energy from your shots SHOULD come from your lower body and core strength. Anyone that has ever played basketball in their life should be able to realize this.

    Awesome KD quote.

"Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard."

This quote is an indication of why he's such a beast.

Yes, you are right about the shots. But upper body strength cannot be underestimated. Fighting off screens, tough rebounds (yes, hes good because of length, but could be great if he was bigger/stronger), post d, shooting through contact, establishing position. It is still a very physical game, despite what people think with the rule changes. As the competition gets higher, the game gets more physical.
