I don't consider Miami a 'South' city. It's East Coast. I wouldn't even consider Dallas a 'South' city but I know that since it's in Texas it's going to get lumped in with the list.

Of course Miami is not "southern", of course Dallas is.

Not sure why that's even a question.

Is Fort Worth included in Dallas' obvious non-question ? ..... Making sure since they're so unrelated.

Miami could easily be considered South, all of of Florida. No question. Its citizens often claim it and Miami's musical style reflects it.

The fact it's East Coast makes it the fastest city of all mentioned, so that's where the East gets credit

Rap and R&B, probably, but I think DFW gets the nod over Houston with live music because of it's proximity to Denton/UNT.

That being said, the Houston Symphony is more nationally renowned than the Dallas Symphony even though they have a slightly larger budget. So we got that going for us....which is nice.

Yeah don't sleep on Denton; back in the 90's that was the place to play if you went close to lil d and they had great bands. like Bedhead and Comet that always rocked our world when we played with them. Dallas really is more the Midwest than the South like Houston is...

Denton is closer to FW so no credit for Dallas.
