Was the Cincinnati Zoo justified in shooting the gorilla to save the child's life?

They are the last in the chain of responsibility.

I am always surprised that the public still have not learned a rifle is the fastest and most effective way to stop a person or dangerous animal. That was a sweet looking gorilla. The ones I remember from Houston were stinky and dirty.

I wonder what his deadlift PR was.

This is why kids need to be on leashes in certain situations or literally use the rope system or something to tie them off to a parent.

It's obvious the stupid Mom couldn't watch all her kids at the same time...or this would have never happened.

And, I don't really care if it was only a few seconds that she glanced away or whatever. That's always the same story when something like this happens. That is all it takes is two seconds!

This has happened a few times the last few years...zoos need to start fencing in the area above the rails to keep people from simply jumping over. Sure, Parents f'ed up, but zoos need to make changes to keep animals safe from stupid people.

I'd do the same for my dog but not for someone else's kid.

LOL at people here who think an endangered gorilla or a dog is more important than a human life

You ever loved or been loved by another human before?

It's not about importance. It's about value. If humans were so important people wouldn't let millions of them starve.

    Your comment makes no sense

So you're saying that the gorilla's life was more valuable?

I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just really trying to understand where you're coming from.

Yeah this makes no sense to me either. Not that I disagree (although I probably do) but I don't understand what you're trying to say.

    Meh.

Save the human but inform him, and his parents that they will be sterilized. Honestly they don't need to be having any more children. You have a multiple felon father, a mother with a history of investigation from CPS and a child that they cannot control, being the only person in 40 years to get inside an enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.

The world would be a better place.

    Why can't you do it?
Why can't you set your monkey free?
Always giving in to it -
Do you love the monkey or do you love me?
    Why can't you do it
Why do i have to share my baby with a monkey?
