Gordon: "We can’t isolate as much against a good defensive team. I don’t care who you are."

theres people that think hes playing so badly is bc he doesn't touch the ball enough? give me a break. thats complete bs. he has the ball in his hands more than enough. he just hasnt been good enough plain and simple. it has nothing to do with anyone else.

you want to prove you need the ball more then play better to warrant it. its that simple. he wasted a ton of possessions last night. thats not on anyone else

Game 2 is going to be decided by MDA's adjustments to how the Dubs defended us in Game 1. Our guys need to have an easier time scoring, which is no small feat against a defense that good.

    Chicken or the egg.

Does his three point shooting suck because he takes a lot of bad threes in an offense that only isos or does he just suck at shooting?

Knowing Gordon's career I'm going to assume the former .

It's not about the number but rather the quality of possessions. Gordon is a great slasher. We have to put him in position to catch the ball on the move, curl to basket or attack downhill. It's hard to make plays when you are only getting the ball in the corner with 5 seconds left on the clock.

Fissure in chemistry, not a good sign.

He should not have said anything publicly, but he certainly never got any looks like Klay got. He wants the ball as he's going downhill towards the rim or open for the shot. Nobody is leaving him when we have 1 guy dribbling for 18 seconds.

The funny part is, to me, that EGO played his share of ISO ball last night.

People critisizing EG didnt play ball obviously. How can he play good when all he gets is late clock shots while standing or forcing stuff out of frustration because lack of touches. Rockets played best at fastpace sharing ball and i believe this iso bullish came from Harden himself and since they were still winning nobody said nothing. Im sure all of the role players plus MDA are frustrated with it too. Coach even said something along those lines live on the court ("we dont even run our offense")

Yeah that seems at least somewhat correct. Our 3s were far more open in the regular season, but against Utah and GSW they were contested.

This team communicates well. They are leaders. I can only assume that the Rockets will adjust and come out ready to attack the switching defense much like Utah attacked Houston in game 2.

It will be interesting to see the adjustments made.

Houston played well enough to win last night.

Luc needs to make layups and the Rockets need to stop letting Klay Thompson get open in transition.

Or getting the ball dumped to you 5 feet behind the three point line.

The quaility of threes this team takes are atrocious this playoffs.

I like Gordon but he's making himself look more and more expendable for the offseason...

Eric Gordon is right. You have to run plays against the Warriors. You have to make their defense work just like they do us. Ball movement.

Dude put up 23 point per game as a starter. The reason he's struggling is because he's not given freedom to do his thing.

    It's no secret.

Gordon has played well almost every game that Harden or Paul has been out.

Maybe, just maybe, Harden should relinquish some ball handling duties and playoff Paul more.

Harden slowed the tempo up BIG TIME.

It's not like we didn't try to run plays last night. They were stimied pretty easily by switching because the action is too simple and predictable. They are sticking to the 3 point line and switching everything, at some point you gotta run some plays to slash towards the rim when they over play the 3.

Gordon had a couple of layups last night from slashing.

And on the side note, I think Eric Gordon our 2nd best perimeter defender behind Luc and should take Ariza's starting spot.

I see a lot of dissing on gordon but he ain’t wrong

As well as harden was playing he’s part of the reason we could never catch up with many wasted possessions of him dribbling for 21 seconds

Harden and Paul can iso that’s great but they need to do it less and get others involved

Capela is sitting down low ready to dunk it, gordon defiantly is gonna have to get more looks, Tucker and ariza need more ball movement because they aren’t being left open.
