I would be mad but .. . . It's the Jazz. . . .. f*ck them JazzHoles Cheating bastards! #bearhugDrexler Is Hayward expected to check LeBron now? Or Kyrie? Or whatever the Cavs has a t the 2 spot. 1-5 Where are the Celtics . . . man to man . . WINS coming from I.T. = Kyrie SG vs SG - I have no idea Hayward << LeBron Holford > Love? Center < Thompson *shrug* Rocket River
Brad Steven and the Celtics won't help him win a ring. He should've chosen the best monetary situation and climate.
As expected. Celts "brand" strikes again. No way in hell they beat tje Cavs though unless that kid they drafted becomes a superstar
One thing to remember: Gordon Hayward is an unrestricted free agent after only 7 years in Utah when he could have been locked into a contract for 9 years (or at least 8) if Utah had either 1) offered him a maximum 5-year extension after his 3rd season, or 2) offered him a 5-year contract after his 4th season. I think he would have accepted such an offer. Instead, they made him go out to get a 4-year, $63M contract (from the Hornets), which had a player option for the 3rd year.
Hindsight is 20/20 though if I remember correctly the consensus around the league after his 4th year was that he was not worth a max contract, and he actually underperformed his contract in his 5th year, shooting sub-par percentages, before blossoming into a star in his 6th year.
I think the Celtics are simply better at everything other than having top stars. They're far better defensively, better system on offense, better passing, better depth, better future. Half of the rotation is likely to be better next season than last just by training, which is something almost no one else in the league can say. But I think the more critical reason Hayward is important is: who is most likely to win the East each of the next 5 years? For me, without question, it's the Celtics. They still have Brooklyn's pick and no bad contracts. Their patience will pay off.
Holy god I just remembered they acquired Rubio to convince Hayward to stay. They had Rubio fly out and talk to him in the meeting. Another day, another brick.
lulz at Rubio's tweet. It's so sad. But at least he has a continued excuse from his fans for be unable to make the playoffs....and be unable to lead a team to wins.
