Remember the last time when a team and a young player heading into restricted free agency couldn't get an extension done?

Since many posters here believe Parsons = or > Hayward, I'm curious if they think the Rockets should or would match a max or near max offer (around 14million starting) for Parsons.

That's just nuts of offer Hayward the max. I only see the Rockets going up to $11 or $12 mil if we were able to get Love w/o giving up Parsons.

Oh, and because they're long small forwards with a similar skill set, age, and both are free agents.

Hell no. Hayward isn't worth that. That would set any franchise that offers him a max deal back a few years.

Hayward sucks. Definition of mediocre. Crappy defense and crappy shooter.

    Parsons is a glue guy.

    No brainer.

No way in hell Hayward gets $14mill. Dude is pretty good, but wasn't able display a consistent leadership role on a terrible Jazz team. However, I will admit that his best game of the year (Career high 37 defeating Durant), along with his youth, convinced me that he is worth more money than Parsons.

If the Rockets get Love or Anthony, I have no doubt the Rockets would match a max contract offer for Parsons. Regardless, the Rockets may have to decide if he is worth the max or close to it. There are many teams trying to make a splash and only a few try stars available.

LOL, being guarded mostly by Lamb and Fisher. He's a great spark plug guy or 3rd option, but no way is he worth the max. Without Millsap and Jefferson he didn't get enough open looks.

Hayward was on my fantasy team and he made me a very happy camper when I put him in the line-up for the most part. There was a slouch in the middle of the season, but he's solid and deserves a decent payday.

    .062 win shares per 48

He's basically Mike Dunleavy or Keith Van Horn .

Many 2nd round picks will give you the same production for much less money.

I'd take either of the rockets second round picks on cheap contracts over him.

Hayward may be looking at a max or near max...

This would NOT be the 3rd Max I was hoping for...
