Yes, Phoenix will be mediocre, but his contract is good value and the notion of the player option as some sorte of a deal breaker is ridiculous.
I really, really wish we would've kept him. I don't mind Lin, but I always thought he was a downgrade from what we already had.
Dragic after 10 games - 16.7 PPG, 7.2 APG, 0.479 FG%, 0.372 3PT%, 1.8 Steals Lin after 9 games - 10.9 PPG, 6.7 APG, 0.355 FG%, 0.267 3PT%. 2.3 Steals Dragic has the better start so far. And we all saw his defense last year. He is superior in that department as well.
Lin is similar to Dragic back in his 2nd/3rd year. Has skills but has to refine his skill set. I am sure coaches would rather have the finished product rather than raw material
Gogi would complement Harden's game perfectly. He isn't quite a pure pg and more of a score first type. With Harden having tendencies to run the point, Gogi's game would've meshed nicely for a 1-2 punch combo. Lin may get there, but currently he has a long ways to develop.
Don't know what is really wrong with how he plays, but the Suns look much better with Telfair running the point. Sebastian Telfair is a very average point guard, so there must obviously be some skills that Dragic lacks. Rockets fans who have watched him over the last three years will probably know what his problem is better than I do. Lowry was the best point guard out of the three (Dragic, Lin and Lowry). I don't think however that there is much of a dropoff from Dragic to Lin. If Lin develops his shooting he will be a much better player than Dragic I think.
do you wish we had kept him at the expense of getting a superstar? Morey's judgment was that he couldn't afford to lose flexibility in his pursuit of a superstar, and the player option on another year was too much Turns out we got Harden without that. But there's no way we could have known in hindsight. Given our continued failures in the pursuit of a superstar, I was all for doing everything necessary to give us the highest possible chance of acquiring one
Don't understand the obessesion of Dragic from Rox fans. The fact is: Lowery and him both played for Rox last year. Rox was still mediocre, they couldn't even make the playoffs. This year he went to Phx. A team has no stars. Give him some credits, he does put up some nice stats so far, but it is not mind-blowing and eye popping in any way. In short, nothing really special. And Phx is enjoying a nice record of 4-7 in 11 games. Just don't understand it.
Todays stats. Dragic - 15 points, 8 assists, 1 turnover - against a team we couldn't beat twice. Lin - 4 points, 3 assists, 5 turnovers - he had more turnovers then points. How sad is that?
