Just want them to play their game and stay healthy. We play who we play in the playoffs. You are going to have to go up against one of those two teams eventually.
The rebounding battle will determine the series, we are the #2 defensive rebounding team this year, OKC is the #1 offensive rebounding team. If we limit the number of possessions OKC has then our offense should win out. We need to force Adams on the perimeter and try to run him off the floor and force OKC to play small.
Let me enjoy this moment while it lasts. Come on freaking portland. please let us stay at number 1!!!!
Please let Portland win. Tired of hearing for the past month about how Golden State could be the first team to have the best record in the league at the All Star break for four consecutive years.
I think we'll get a split at Oracle. But I also think we'll lose one at home. So, please, let's go into those last 3 games with the extra home game in our back pocket. We have that in our power right now, without having to beat the Warriors till the end.
This is true. After Sunday, their schedule gets extremely easy. Need them to stumble this week with the San Antonio/@Portland back to back on Thursday and Friday and then at Minnesota Sunday. They do finish at Utah where they always seem to struggle.
I want to answer "yes" in the poll, since I somehow missed this thread, but I don't want to sound like a bandwagon fan. Oh, what the hell. I've just finished watching the win against the Celtics for the 3rd time and if we could pull off that win, there's no stopping us, not if the basketball gods give us a break (no pun intended) with the "i" word. With appendages crossed, I'm voting yes. The Worriers are worrying. Kerr is worrying. He should. They should. We just need good juju and luck with the "i" word. If we have that kind of luck, I like our chances. We need to take one game at a time and maintain our focus. One game at a time. I would have all my good luck charms on top of both TV's, but they don't make tubes any longer. Not for Television screens, at any rate. Maybe a little table next to each screen? Jerry Lin's bobble head upside down in front of something gold? I have 2 Jerry bobble heads. Plenty of candles. I haven't burned the house down, not yet. Reverse juju? What could I add to each little table (I have 2 little tables)? Put Kerr's image face down under each upside down Jerry bobble head? Stick pins in a potato representing Zaza? I've got 2 potatoes. Mmmm.
20 games left and it will probably take 17-3 to get it done. Would be difficult but not out of the question assuming everyone stays healthy. My only concern is we've been locked in for so long that you hope we don't get to the playoffs mentally fatigued. Meanwhile Warios have been "coasting" so they definitely won't be mentally fatigued but for them you hope they "forgot" how to get locked in and have bad habits. All that said, the end of the season especially in the West is gonna be lit.
It's tough, the Rockets don't have much room for error here as the Warriors have a cupcake schedule and may only lose one more game the rest of the way. That means the Rockets can afford two loses - maybe 3 tops but then you need the Warriors to lose twice. The Warriors are motivated - clearly they want that home court and they haven't lost since losing the lead right before the All-star break. They have 4 tough games coming up - T-wolves, Portland, OKC, and NOLA. It's hard to see the Jazz or wounded Spurs giving them much trouble. So if they go 2-2 against those 4 it's entirely possible (and likely) they sweep the rest leaving them at 16 loses. The Rockets have 8 super tough games. So they would need to go 5-3 and win their other 12 to finish at 16 loses. They may in fact need to go 6-2 and win out if the Warriors can pull 3 out of 4 against the above set. So for the 1st seed, the Rocket might actually need to finish 18-2 for a record of 67-15 to get that first seed. Ridiculous. GS has the advantage schedule wise big time. If the Rockets can sweep OKC and Toronto and I think we'll win the #1 seed. If not, we'll likely need GS to stumble a bit.
I guess you always want the #1 seed but it is what it is. We're not gonna spend the rest of our year trying to fight for the #1 seed. If it happens, it happens. Our goal is to get better each & every day. If we're getting better each & every day and at the top of our game at the right time, I don't care where we're playing. We'll be just fine. Our goal is to just get better.
