Colts to the Texans if you want to keep the inner-division thing

McHugh is 4-0 career against the Rangers, though he would'nt be available. It would be Fiers or Kazmir. Either would be on full rest.

    So what happens now....

If rangers lose. We play them for the division on Monday? And if we lose that , we play another one for 2nd wild card spot? Then another one?

Game for the division title on Monday.

If we lose that we move on to the wild card play in game Tuesday. If we win either one of those we move into the regular playoffs.

Still quite a few scenarios in play.

    Its not that hard.

If the Astros win and Rangers lose, there's one game in Arlington on Monday for the division... and the loser gets the 2nd wild card (and the game itself will not be in NY if they lose tomorrow).

If the Astros lose and the Rangers win, there's one game in Houston on Monday for the 2nd wild card between the Astros and Angels... with the winner going to NY for the wild card game on Tuesday.

If the Astros win and the Rangers win... Astros are the 2nd wild card and they play on Tuesday in Houston if NY loses.

If we win tomorrow and the Angels beat the Rangers, we play a tie-breaking game at Arlington on Monday. Winner is AL West champ and loser is in the wild card game.

If the Rangers win, we are in the wild card game and the Rangers are AL West champs no matter what the outcome of our game is.

If we lose tomorrow and the Angels win, we play a tie-breaker game at home against the Angels for the 2nd wild card spot.

You need to substitute Angels for Rangers in the first sentence of your second paragraph.

So, basically, our best bet/scenario would be for us to win and Texas to lose Sunday. We'd play a tiebreaker game against Texas on Monday for the division and if we win we're in for sure.

    Yep.

In that case, we'd have two games (unless we won against the Rangers), of which, we'd need to win one, in order to get into an actual playoff series.

Wow. What do you do if your AJ. Tomorrow McCullers goes. If we win and Rangers lose and Yankees lose what do you do?

Do you pitch kazmir against rangers on a short leash and bring fiers and/or Vince in? If you lose and wildcard game is in Houston Tuesday do you then hand the ball to Keuchal who is perfect at home?

Fiers would pitch Monday and Keuchel on Tuesday.,

So when we have the lead tomorrow we root for the Angels .. if we fall behind root for the Rangers

Not sure I've seen a situation like that for a Houston team before

Hopefully the Astros put up a 9 spot in the 1st inning and take McCullers out to save him for Monday.

    That will not happen.

There's a reason why starting pitchers don't usually come back after lengthy rain delays.

Shouldn't we want the Rangers to win since we can't beat them anyway? I would rather have a day off going to play the Yankees.

If we play the Rangers for the division, would that take place in Arlington or Houston?
