As much as I don't want the Rangers to win the West, I don't trust the Astros to sweep the D'Backs and I just want to get in the playoffs.

If La beats Tex 4-0, Texas has 76 losses according to the chart.

Sure you're not confused by that Houston team being there?

Re-read it, Texas is the 3rd team in the LA 4 Texas 0 scenario.

So if the Rangers blow the next 3 games and the astros win their 3 game. We have a tie correct? 1 game playoff for the division and the loser is the WC.

    Correct,.??

Ok Now my fear is if the Rangers clinch tomorrow by losing and the Stros losing then they proceed to tank the last two games to rest their guys.

God I hate the Rangers. Please let the Astros win a World Series before they do.

Astros are a game ahead of the Angels. So sweeping the D'Backs means they make the playoffs.

I assume you meant loser of Astros/Rangers playoff game Monday in Arlington goes to the WC game.

Now here's a question. If the Astros and Rangers AND Yankees tie at 87 wins, who goes where for the Wild Card? Does the fact that the playoff for the division actually being a regular season game play into that? The loser would have a 1/2 game worse record...giving the Yankees the home game. Or do they not count that? If the Astros and Yankees are tied, the game would be in Houston.

Some things finally falling Stros way. Really wanted Minnesota to lose. But Texas win, Kansas City Win, and Toronto Loss works.

Now we really need Colorado to beat Arizona, they have a lead again finally.

Why does the Colorado Arizona outcome matter?

Arizona is 77-81 but not going to make the playoffs. As coach you give that team a goal to reach to strive for to keep the team engaged. Right now that goal is likely a 0.500 season.

A loss ensures them a losing season. Sure it may make no difference, but it also affect their psyche enough that they come out flat the first few games of the Astros series.
