There have been so much bickering and back and forth after this offseason and I wanted to put up a thread that will have everyone go on the record on what they believe the season is going to be like. That way we can come back during the season and see what predictions came true. I personally think we are going to be better than last year when it's all said and done. Ariza will live up to what he needs to do and will make us forget Parsons thanks to his defense.
58 wins, top 3 seed in west. DMo and Nick Johnson will emerge as integral rotation players. Harden's defense will improve and he will be heavily considered in MVP voting.
I personally feel like Toyota center's nachos aren't half bad; par for the course when it comes to stadium food. Come at me bro
Western Conference Finals- I think this team added the much needed toughness defensively. Getting stops and replacing a defensive liability with someone who can play defense.
Team has a year under their belt with the Howard/Harden combo. I think Harden is embarrassed and will play tough defense. I see us winning 7 or 8 more games and ending up as the 3rd seed.
I'd be happy to vote near the end of the offseason. Even though I've been b****ing like a little girl since the pass on Parsons and followed up with junk signings, the fan in me won't give up hope that we aren't done yet.
Wait. Some clarification is needed: say if they finish the regular season with a worse record, but advance beyond 1st round, is that considered better or not? OP probably should clarify the criteria a little bit.
52 wins. Probably 6th-8th seed. Barring catastrophic injury to our team or any other former playoff squad.
I get what you are saying. A second round finish with a lower record is technically better than last year on some fronts. I can't go back and edit a poll, But that's where you can just post if you don't want to do the poll and put your own idea.
Losing Parsons getting Ariza to me seems similar to OKC losing Harden and getting Kevin Martin plus assets. The team might ultimately perform well and even measure better in every statistical metric than from previous season. But will still seem like something is "lost" along the way in losing the better all round talent for good role player fits. Rockets will probably have same record or 52 wins, might even advance in playoffs (quite possible if Harden plays even average in playoffs) But ultimately lacking the extra "stuff" to win a championship or even advance to Finals. (Here's hoping theres some more moves ahead and surprise performances to improve team projection)
