[Global News] Trump presents Presidential Medal of Freedom to Tiger Woods

Tiger receiving the medal isn't a problem. Given what the medal is about, he's well deserving.

For his sake, though, I hope receiving the honor from this President didn't taint the occasion for him.

 

He seems pretty reserved about the whole event, probably would have preferred Hillary.

 

Looking back at the list of athletes who've gotten this award, even those in recent history, Tiger Woods does stand out as especially undeserving. This kinda reeks of Trump's tonedeafness and penchant for starf***ing.

 

Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are the other 2 golfers who've been given this award, as far as I know....why is Tiger so out of the ordinary? He absolutely belongs among those other athletes, and above some. Yes, the timing was weird, would have been more appropriate in 20 years or so, sure.

Bill Cosby hasn't had his taken away yet, just an fyi.

Frankly, I won't take this award seriously until they give one to Willie and McMurtry. And eventually the Coen Brothers.

 

Trump is always promoting. One thing I've known close up over the last 30 years is "As Tiger goes, so goes the Golf Industry". he is single handedly responsible for a golf boom, wane and resurgence. If you own a bunch of golf courses, you want Tiger to be as popular as possible for your own bottom line.

Take every opportunity to take every advantage
