I got word from an insider I know that Gilchrist and Fab Melo are working out with the Rockets on Friday. Just thought I'd pass the info on. They will be in Houston for the workouts.

Gilchrist is a winner. I have never watched a more enjoyable player in UK blue (Chuck Hayes would honestly have an argument).

His desire to win is unmatched. He shot something like 82% on fast breaks last year. Some skills of his need work, but his defense, aggressiveness, rebounding, and dedication to the game set him apart.

Please please make this happen. Possible triple double machine with his hussle.

MAX from realgm is that you?

and as for the topic....I would love for us to MKG, but i dont see it happening. SF isnt that huge of a need anyway. as for melo, i sure hope we are looking to buy a 1st round pick to get him because he isnt worth the 14 and 16th pick.

that b*stard stole my name
you try to pick the player you want the most regard of position
    see portland
pick bowie over jordan and oden over durant
just because they need center instead of select best player available
or you can be stupid like atlanta pick marvin williams over chris paul and they needed pg

We'd have to be moving simultaneously up and down in the draft for either of these dudes.

And MKG would have to believe we're going to trade into the top 3 in order to get him.

I remember Thabeet working out for us and Morey saying something like: "We're not in position to draft a guy like him, but it's good to have an already established relationship with that player for future moves down the road."

Did he work out for us? Wasn't it just a sitdown meeting?

Ditto for T. Robinson? (Wasn't it just a conversation at the combine?)

Now, an actual workout---not to read into it too much, lest I set off the Sarcasm Richter Scale (i.e., Dwight Howard just flew over Houston)---might be different.

Anyway, Ron from the G, hope your source might hear how it goes in that workout (or if it doesn't go down at all).
