I'm a hockey fan, so this is nothing. I thought it was a good retaliation. Dunleavy was cheap-shotting people in the throat all game. Bulls are up 30 and he's still swiping at people's throats. No calls from the refs. You definitely let that fool know what's up. Nothing dirty about it. Didn't go for head, neck, or nuts. Take your ejection/flagrant/tech. See you next season.
kudos to dunleavy. major respect for not swinging an invisible handbag or doing the "hold me back" routine after that.
You give 2 extreme black/white options of that, its either Dirty or GREAT, with no other level. In order to WANT more of this, you'd have to wish there's an instigator recklessly injuring undeserving people in the first place. No was not a "great" foul if great means "Wish I Can See MORE of This". It WAS understandable and justifiable retaliation though, no doubt.
It wasn't a dirty foul. It was a stupid and immature action and I hope he learns to keep his emotions more in check. This time it didn't hurt his team because they already were getting blown out but other times in the future it may. As for Dunleavy he is a sneaky dirty player with a looong history. In the first minute of the game he started with a punch with a closed fist to MCW's face and he had to go to the lockeroom. The refs didn't even call a foul. Remember what he said to Boogie in the past. The guy is a scumbag. I hope the league looks into him and suspends both players tbh. The Bulls with him and Noah are a dirty team. I never cheered for Lebron in my life but I hope they beat them and put Perkins on Dunleavy.
Why hasn't the league announced a suspension for dunleavy yet? This was a clear hit job by dunleavy and an egregious job by the refs letting the game get so out of hand. None of those refs should be allowed to ref the rest of the playoffs but its the NBA we're talking about so there's no such thing as accountability.
I can't present all the options, I just thought it was great, not so serious dude When I meant with I want more of this is people taking matters into their own hands when referees are not calling dirty, blatant fouls. You sometimes have to retaliate. It might not be smart, but I love it if one of our guys would do it in the next series when Matt Barnes / Blake Griffin / Chris Paul get away with nasty cheap shots.

You can't just shoulder block a helpless shooter right in the ribs. Definitely dirty. Could have broken a rib or three there. If Dunleavy is taking sneaky shots at you, tell the ref to keep an eye out for it.

I'm convinced that the NBA is just pulling random numbers out of a hat when they decide on suspensions. The Cav's hat only has numbers 0, 1, and 2 though.
A lot of morons on this site. How often is it that every time a cheap shot or hard foul is given a full-fledged retaliation is exacted afterwards in the form of tackles and/or punches throw? Not often. Retaliators in the NBA are guys like Matt Barnes, Dennis Rodman (old school), old Ron Artest, old Kenyan Martin...these are weak minded guys who can't control their tempers. Giannis isn't a weak-minded punk, only a naive 20 year old kid. 20 year-olds sometimes do impulsive things. Hard fouls happen all the time...and rarely is there retaliation. Players need to be professional and not respond emotionally to harassment. They can't let the opposing player (or fans) get into their heads. Guys like Tim Duncan are great--champions--because they can play through everything without getting riled.
I vote "stupid", "angry" and "non-basketball." He didn't intend to hurt him, just chuck him, so I don't call it fully "dirty." And it wasn't a good play-off foul, because those usually come within the flow of the game, like when someone is about to get a layup and your karate their arms. But this foul in the OP was like several full counts after the shot.
This. The Buck's got a beat down and I still can't believe a bag of bones like Giannis would or could do something like that.
It's not dirty in the sense that it's not sneaky (like the ones Dunleavy did to some Bucks players). It's dirty in the sense that its sole purpose is to hurt with no basketball intention at all. It's also dirty in the sense that the guy has no way to defend the hit. That said, as many have pointed out, Dunleavy also did a few dirty shots before the incident. So ultimately it's the officiating that let it got out of hand.
