Well, that proves it! The Greek Freak IS a dumb jock with a LOUSY sense of humor. There are people who think they are funny, but they are really insultingly obnoxious. The Greek Freak is one of them. Have a great All-Star game Brodie and Beard.
That's our offense. Luka also has the ball a comparable amount. We use Harden that way because our offense is designed that way. That doesnt mean hes a ball hog, if thats true than you could call Lebron/Lillard or Luka a ball hog. So? He still playmakes with the ball ALOT. His usage is pretty high compared to other PGs in the league who arent considered "ball hogs" And? So what? What Harden does gives us the best chance to win. His step back 3 is one of the most dangerous weapons in the game. You dislike Harden so much you go out of your way to defend dudes who mock him.
And yet in this very all star game there will be players who during this season have more touches per game than Harden, have the ball in their hands in total more per game than Harden, hold the ball per touch more than Harden and dribble the ball more per touch than Harden and players who pass and assist less than Harden.
No. Harden is a gifted passer and sees the floor like very few do. Also, his passing accuracy is not easy to match. You cant teach and coach passing instincts either. Harden's passing ability combined with his scoring prowess is what makes his so good and why his teams get so many wins despite him dominating the ball. His passing is a difference maker. His passing ability lets him run an efficient scoring offense, not just for himself but also for the team.
He’s trying to be sneaky. Harden was in a close MVP discussion with this dude and he’s trying to bring him down. if harden kept passing on this dude and said he wanted to pick a guy that could shoot the casual nba fan would roast him for saying that. casual idiot fans love guys like Kawhi and Giannis cause the media tells them to
Harden has gotten to the point where he dosent even care in the games Giannis has taken 13 more FGA than Harden in the last 3 ASG's too. **** you Giannis
Only Damian Lillard and Trae Young have the ball in their hands more per possession. What makes their domination less aesthetically jarring at the very least is their ball domination is similar to how Nash and CP3 dominated the ball. They constantly moved with their dribble probing different areas of the half court which allows teammates to engage by moving in sync off the ball with the ball handler. Harden over the past couple of seasons hardly ever attacks a pick set for him where he can probe the interior of the defense. Instead he just falls back from the set screen and either waits for a switch or trap where he dribbles on one spot of the court. Sorry but that style isn't as fun to watch as how players like Nash or CP3 dominates the ball. And it's not just aesthetics also. That style allows defenses to set and half all the other 4 players on defense rest watching Harden dribble the ball on one spot. It makes the offense more predictable and easier to guard in a 7 game series.
If I were picking all star teams like this Harden would be the last guy I pick. Dude is trash in All star games I thought we would realize by now. He doesn't care at all and doesn't even put on a show for the fans. All he does is jack up threes, that's literally all he does in the ASG. If you want to win, you aren't picking Harden.
Then it would be more indictive of his ast ratio and assist to turnover ratio. He has almost league average assist/to ratio which to me says a large portion of his relatively high assists numbers comes more from ball domination rather than excellent levels of execution in terms of passing the ball. Guys like Luka and Lebron have significantly higher ast ratios. Harden is a crafty passer. He makes some fun pocket passes and is a great lobber. It's just his execution on passes can often be lazy.
Harden doesn't give a shet about the all star game and comes in hungover Everytime and throw up a few 3's.
Which is odd when understanding Harden's personality. He's a personal accolades hunter. He advocates for his MVP slot and plays in late game blowouts all the time to make sure his averages don't dip. You would think that type of personality would want an All-star game MVP and show up the audience.
We arent talking about aesthetics here. If you cant see that he passes, thats on an ignorant person. And? Harden averages likes the most drives in the league, the Capela to Harden lob was one of the highest assisted combos for a while. You mean...literally just last year when we starting isoing more than ever? We still ran a lot of pick and roll prior to last year. Again...why are we talking about whos fun to watch. I've given you numbers already about our offense in the playoffs man. Im not getting into it again.
Kemba Walker assists per game - 2019-20: 5.0 Career: 5.4 James Harden assists per game - 2019-20: 7.3 Career: 6.4 I wAnT sOmEoNe WhO iS gOiNg To PaSs
There is more context than just raw assist totals when comparing who is more selfish and who is a more willing passer.
The amount of disrespect Harden gets from the players and the media is disgusting. You may say they were joking, but they obviously meant it. I honestly believe if Harden wasn't an automatic starter, Lebron wouldn't have picked him as a starter. Luka has been injured and hasn't been anywhere near MVP form since the early part of the season in the last 4 weeks or so, yet Lebron picks him over Harden. He's got over 5000 assists in his career..... he's mostly always top 10 in assists every season. He's had the ball less this season because of Westbrook, yet he still averages over 7 assists a game. He'd probably average way more if his teammates were consistent with their shooting.
