How dare people complain after Morey builds a 55 win first round exit team?

Leonard is better than expected and Morris was worse... Basically worst case scenario...

I know you are being sarcastic... but there is a lot more truth in that statement than you would accept.

Morey inhabited a team with two broken stars and he was forced not to tank. Has a rebuild like that ever been done?

He took a team with aging good but not great players and middle first round draft picks and got a team together with two legit stars and a very valuable supporting player in Parsons. At least Asik and Beverly should be valued highly as well - and guys like Lin and Jones at least have some appeal.

So, he turned a team without a future or a lot of highly valueable assets into a team with two All-NBA players and the capspace to sign another max player.

First round exit? That sucks. But other teams can play too, our coaching was subpar and our guys didn`t have much time together. Anyone who knows basketball knew, that after the Dwights signing this team needed time and at least another piece. The last season was never gonna be the season we were going for it all - it was the setup season. Now we are going for that final piece.

And Leonard? Teams miss on draft picks all the time. How many team wished they`d have taken Parsons? AB? Landry?

So critizicing single moves is perfectly fine. Questioning is all is not only greatly exaggerated, it also shows a lack of realistic expectations. In the last 2 years Morey probably did a better job than any other GM, or at least he definetly is in the top 5.

There were actually a lot of players taken after Morris that would have been a better choice. Leonard, Faried, Vucevic, Shumpert, Reggie Jackson, Jimmy Butler, Isiah Thomas....

    It was a bad pick.

That is known. Nobody would disagree.

Leonard? The guy allowed to leave by that model East franchise, the one that when they were (something like) 39-10, was hailed as the new champs, the very best team in the whole wide world?

The Pacers' FO has had more success than that market should expect IMHO. And they let KL go for - - George (whoope-de-doo) Hill?

The perfect Spurs? Was willing to trade Parker and keep Hill? The team that ceded Scola to the Rox?

    Man, hindsight is aces.

Marcus Morris was the 14th pick in the draft(not the #1, #5, or #10th pick even.... FOURTEEN), and in his 2nd year(after he failed to develop into a 3 his rookie year) the Rockets remodeled his game on the fly to turn him into what should be a long career player as a specialist stretch 4.

That year with the Rockets, their most potent offensive lineups were with Morris at the 4. For a 2nd year player, he was actually pretty good for the Rockets in that role. They traded him essentially for cap space the following Summer and chance for Jones/D-Mo(who were higher upside PF's) to break out.

Marcus Morris is far from being a bust given his draft position (In a very weak draft as well).

The only thing we are noting here is how well Kawhi Leonard has developed from where he was on draft night, and how well of a pro he turned out to be in the Spurs system.... Good for them. Speaks volumes at how great the Spurs are.

This is a ludicrous argument that Carl is trying to stir up. Please don't get sucked into this crap argument.

-14 teams missed out on Kawhi Leonard
-24 teams missed out on Mark Price
-26 teams missed out on Dennis Rodman
-27 teams missed out on Tony Parker
-29 teams missed out on Manu Ginobili
-29 teams missed out on Gilbert Arenas

    Oh and

-37 teams missed out on Chandler Parsons

What's your freaking point? The NBA as a whole misses out on evaluating both talent & having a fool-proof crystal ball that predicts the future all the damn time. Why does Morey get the blame time and time again when his track record is just as good as anyone else, if not better than a large majority?
