I'm so glad the days of "splash" are receding. And fully support a five character minimum, albeit "splash" is 6 characters. It's probably ultimately stupid to post "lol" or "qft" or "fify", but sometimes I do to quote a poster to reemphasis a really good take with no further comment necessary. I found it odd that the vbulletin software doesn't consider a quote as part of a response, so you are left adding arbitrary characters. my question is: how do you get around the five character mininum if you also quote a reply with a lol, fify or qft caption. qft... ? is there a text message acronym for "no further comment necessary" that I could append to lol. yeah, i know text message acronyms are stupid. Try them out on that last sentence of mine.
So i take it as an equivalent of i agree/good post? A common way i see in another board is like +10000(an exaggeration of +1) Others that you can use: IAWTC I Agree With That/This Comment IAWTCSM I Agree With This Comment So Much Seconded Yeah,I know what you meant.I've been toying with the idea of making the [/quote] eg //quote] so that i only need to write qft
My comment was " " (a non-breaking space). It exceeds the 5 character minimum, but renders as a single blank space character. That's one approach to get around the character limit.
you could use smilies. some of the them, like the "cool" smiley, the roll eyes smilie, the confused one, etc. already surpasses the 5 character limit. or you can type: LOL and you already have over 5 characters. or qft something like that.
