GG is our Jr smith or nick young. He’s a guy that can have huge scoring out bursts in a matter of minutes on par with the best in the game. He’s just not capable of doing that consistently. But we’ve seen jr smith get hot in finals games and be one of the main reasons the Cavs won the game. Same with nick young hell he did it last nights against the the suns. GG will have a few opportunities in the playoffs I can guarantee that. And if he has it going like tonight we’ll blow the other team out even if it’s the warriors or raptors (only two threat imo) But if he comes in and doesn’t have anything going in 5 min he wont play again that game. Every great team needs a guy like him for one game in a tight series. Just glad we have our all in poker hand sitting on the bench for the right moment.

I honestly dont see any debate here. JJ is pretty done as a basketball player based on what ive seen. No doubt Green is a better player at this point. I used to think wed see a lot of JJ in the playoffs. After watching him closely, i pray not. With tucker/ariza/green all viable 3's Anderson/moute at the 4 I just dont see a place for JJ.
Don't get your hopes up, MDA lets his personal relationship / preference with Joe interfere with his duties as a coach. All coaches have a few of those players. Remember McHale and Brewer?
its not personal preference mda is trying to increase our versatility and decrease predictability of our ofense eg if cp3 goes down in playoffs for a couple of games(which one can reasonably expect and plan for) we have another playmaker to take away defences focus from harden...we all know what happens when harden is a single focus of opponents defense
Yeah sorry but not buying it. He’s trying to see how Joe fits maybe, but if he was concerned about how he fits and see with which guys he works best he would not have just thrown him out there. I haven’t seen him use Joe in a lot of different ways. I think he just said: do what you always do if he wanted to increase versatility he’d see how Green worked with Joe, Joe next to Ryno etc. He simply replaced Green with Joe.
My biggest issue with JJ is that he is not running hard enough on the wings. Everything is a soft trot. PJ Tucker hauls ass to the corner every single time down and that dude is WORKING on D. When playoff defense arrives, I am very interested to see what GG can do, but also very happy we have JJ just in case. I think D’Antoni has it right finally. GG over Joe, but with a fairly tight leash.
i suspect you arent quite aware of all the subtleties of coaching and psychology .it seems your thinking in this case is rigid and not well intentional
Green can win double digits, Joe only can win single digit. Lose to Raptors. We use green vs strong teams
