Bzedelik is gunna love this guy. Hope he doesn't loose trust in the coaches and goes the way of Trot Williams or KJ McDaniels. What IS KJ up to these days anyway??
Why do that when they can continue to get play out of Clark for $0 against the cap/tax and when MCW isn’t yet tradable? If that’s your goal, then just wait until December/January, trade MCW (and cash?), save on luxury tax, THEN convert/sign Clark.
Do we need to get Harden or Paul suspended for a couple more games to help reduce the luxury tax bill?
I just searched the stats and he is absolutly right carmelo is way better at defending the perimeter appose to defensing the interior, when defending a shot greater than 15 ft his dfg% equals (37.5) very good, now when he defends less than 10 ft from the rim his dfg% rockets up to 66% which is very bad.
Ya gotta love Morey. After losing 3&D veterans in Ariza and LMAM, he threw 3 darts (Ennis, Clark, MCW) and hit on 2 of them. He threw 1 dart (Melo) to replace Ryno and he hit on that too.
On September 23, 2018, McDaniels signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.[26] On October 10, 2018, McDaniels was waived by the Thunder.[27] McDaniels was added to the Oklahoma City Blue training camp roster on October 23, 2018. https://gleague.nba.com/player/kj-mcdaniels/
Will you please stop making so much sense all the time? You’re going to give the garm a bad name with quality posts.
It's days, not games, but they no longer count "travel days," so only days when called up, when you can either practice or play with the NBA team count.
Agreed. Aside from the shooting, what he brings to the table defensively is huge. 1) He actually boxes out. Sad we even have to say things like this but it helps! 2) He has strong hands. When get gets rebounds, he keeps them. And when he fights for 50/50 balls, and grabs them. 3) Sneaky shot blocker. He is not amazingly long or athletic. So his TIMING is really key to get those blocks. He was really good in these ways late in the Pacers game. A lot of trust from MDA. I really wonder if his 2-way will be converted to a full contract this season as it moves along. I don't see him as a starter at any point. But as a "bench rotation guy" absolutely. And this guys IS PLAYABLE vs Golden State down the road. The only thing holding Clark back is just "general wisdom of the game" which he will learn over time by playing. "Wisdom" is the edge Ariza and Moute had.
He's better than MCW but still a scrub. He's a rookie and he'll get better but he shouldnt be seeing significant minutes on a championship team.
This is what I expect to happen. Utilize the 2-way system for now with Clark, but later in the season, convert the contract to a "team friendly" deal.
Gary Clark gets the 10th most minutes per game on the Rockets. The Warriors have Kevon Looney getting the 6th most minutes, Damian Jones the 8th most, and Alfonzo McKinnie the 9th most. Championship teams play guys like Gary Clark in the regular season. And if he earns it, he can get some postseason minutes too.
What is Clark’s true size? Internet lists him as 6’8”, but he looks a lot smaller than that to me. Anyone know the triple truth, Ruth?
Still doesn't mean we can't find solid minutes with energy and defense from our young guys. Like he said, Clark is 10th in minutes on our team. Not 5th, not 6th, 10th of 15 total on our current roster. I think you're over-exaggerating how often he is being used in his current role.
You literally just said: The Warriors are a championship team, and they play young players during the regular season.
