    If we win today, it means that it will take more than Carpenter to beat us. Which, in the past, is why we always lost. A great pitcher took us out.

    Out of curiousity: how dirty WAS Lane's slide? Sounds like it coulda gone either way, maybe? If people aren't sure, then I'm not going to waste any time thinking about it... just don't like the thought that he mighta given the Cards any extra motivation.

    What a great game. I'm glad that Lane who had struggled hit that go ahead RBI. Everett also had that tremendous play to end the 8th.

    lidge's slider was nasty, he just didn't have control of the fastball. he got it done though!

    It looked just like a slide made to break up a double play at second base.
    If I was a Card fan, I'd be a little miffed, but the guy isn't hurt bad.
