He is as of season 4 of the show: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jfvbTikEoKc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Don't think he is in the books.
I was thinking the same thing. Ballers, was just OK, IMO. No True Detective season this year, the only thing I can think of is that Westworld looks like it could be cool.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver? Great, funny show. But I suppose you can always watch the clips on YouTube.
one of the most overrated shows ever. I can't believe I watched a season of that crap. The wire is overrated too, 3 episodes in fell asleep.
Did anyone else think young Ned looked like Barney Stinson / Neil Patrick Harris? I almost lost it when I saw him in episode 3.
Well, there is Bill Simmon's new show. I haven't watched it, but the clips seem fun: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LBrf_RfT9eE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tdJ0DC8WI1E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
yep, awful. The Affleck segment in week 1 was decent, only b/c Affleck lost his **** like any Boston friends you might know would. This week, the Gladwell/Cuban/Simmons chat about NBA owners/egos was awesome and too short. I could've watched an hour of that. Sadly, the rest of the show (like last week) sucked.
I still watch The Wire clips on YouTube despite owning the complete seasons on DVD. I love this show to death. I am part of the fandom that gets made fun of by comedians and such. Damn. I get it though--different strokes for different folks--but I am still perplexed how someone cannot love such an amazingly written and REAL show. It is so subtle and beautiful without losing the grittiness of the streets.
The Night Of, an 8-part crime fiction mini-series is about to start in a couple of weeks. It's getting early rave reviews. Here's a trailer.
My HBO Now subscription is up in a few days and I turned off auto renew. Once the new season of Ballers is near complete then I'll renew to binge that and cancel again. Now its time to fire up the Starz subscription for the season three of Power next month.
HBO Go access is worth it. The Wire, Deadwood, Band of Brothers, GOT rewatch's, Curb, etc. etc. Better binge watching shows than you'll ever find on Netflix, and much better movie selection too. However with HBOGo its easy to simply get login info from a friend that has HBO. I'm about to give the Leftovers season 2 a binge watch. I didn't love season 1 (had its moments but mostly it was a drag), but I hear season 2 really improves. They also have a ton of new shows coming out this year like Westworld, The Night of, etc. that are supposed to be promising. I say keep it.
