Each region of Westeros has a different surname for bastards: The Reach = Flowers Westerlands = Hill Iron Islands = Pyke Riverlands = Rivers Dorne = Sand North = Snow Vale = Stone Stormlands = Storm Crownlands = Waters
So that's why big Phil keeps having babies with his wife...all those years as a b*stard he wants as many legitimate kids as possible.
The Reach = Flowers (Tyrells) Westerlands = Hill (Lannisters) Iron Islands = Pyke (Greyjoys) Riverlands = Rivers (Tullys) Dorne = Sand (Martells) North = Snow (Starks ) Vale = Stone (Arryn, now controlled by Littlefinger) Stormlands = Storm (Baratheon) Crownlands = Waters (King's Landing) They have largely ignored the Riverlands in the show, but most of the other ones should be familiar, they usually use the name of the capitol and not the region, which is why some may sound unfamiliar.
How do girls marriages work in this show. If Ned had only one girl and no other children or sons. And she got married? Who would live in Winterfell and would the Stark name disappear forever? Trying to think why people were freaking out about Shireen burning when she couldn't pass on Stannis' last name anyway. By freaking out I dont mean the act or burning but the death of House Barratheon.
Uhm, because she was a cute little kid that screamed for help while being burnt to a terrible death by her father, in a desperate ritual? You think any decent being in that scene would've given a F about the bloodline?
