I will grant you Jojen though I was never particularly attached. The Hound was redeemed and I expect him to show up again. I don't think the Mountain was a sympathetic character. Lysa was certainly not. I guess I meant that the truly sympathetic outcasts never get brutally killed off. The show generally caters to the audience. Tyrion, Jaime, Reek, Samwell, Shireen, Brienne and Bran all seem pretty safe. I'd say Jaime and Brienne are the least safe but will probably get a respectable death.
Stannis is about to go off to war. Do you think he's going to take his wife and kid with him? And will Melisandre go with Stannis this time? If there is going to be a sacrifice, I'm thinking Stannis won't be around to stop it.
I don't think Shireen is necessarily safe at all. Anyway, the small council was awesome. Mace Tyrell is a dunce. But the best news is that Meryn Trant is going to conveniently be escorting Mace Tyrell to Braavos where a certain little lady whispers his name every night.
The possibility is that Mel wants to sacrifice his daughter to guarantee his victory and he refuses her, ultimately leaving Mel behind like he did at the Blackwater. Thus leading to his defeat at Winterfell. Or, same scenario plays out, but Shireen is sacrificed when Stannis leaves, against his wishes.
Lol, I'm just messing. But, I do like it better with the name and then the spoiler. I tried (in vain) to click and then look away so I could see the who but not the what. Maybe I'm not the only one. I think it's a good call to spoiler what the actors say because it's outside info. Maybe the better rule then is that if you're mentioned in the show in some way, you'll probably get killed off sooner or later.
Spoiler about "tone" of upcoming episodes based on an interview one of the characters did with a magazine: Spoiler Warning, spoiler to follow about the tone of an event that impacts a major character, but there are no details of what the event actually is! Spoiler This spoiler regards Lady Sansa Stark! Spoiler Sophie Turner said in an interview that something "horribly traumatic" happens to her/involving her/she is in the scene or something like that (not entirely clear) this season. It's going to be very dark. Nerve racking for Sansa fans!
Response to you.. this has info from Winds of Winter. DON'T read if you haven't read that far. Spoiler WTF... Ser Barristan is the one who leads Danny's army in Winds of Winter. They defeat the Yunkish folk. POV ends with Victarion arriving to the scene with the horn that can tame dragons.
If they need to sacrifice someone with King's blood... why not just kill Jon Snow. I'm sure Stannis would be more amenable to that idea than Shireen.
Does Jon Snow have "King's Blood?" That seems a little grey areaish to me. His "half brother" was "King in the North" but was see as a false King by Melisandre, and he's dead. His father was never king. It's not the same as the boy she was going to sacrifice that was the son of the rightful king (Robert) until his death.
Well, Stannis was never really king either, was he? Does Shireen have King's blood? ..seems more like "potential" King's blood.
Stannis is the rightful King right now, even if he isn't crowned. Tommen is illegitimate. And yes fellow book readers please just don't comment on this, stick to show events only.
Spoiler what exactly? Its pretty much all caught up to the end of the books so pretty much everything is speculation. Is speculation, and fan theory not permitted? Also even though something happens in the books, its no guarantee to happen in the show now. Maybe there are a few story-lines you could spoil that are left, but those could be changed dramatically. The big spoiler is that the Red Wedding type of events are done now in the show adaptation. The Show is now its own thing, and the only real spoilers are going to come from the people making the show.
Spoiler what lol? We're talking about things that have happened on the show. As for the virgin not being able to be sacrificed, didn't Mel hop on Gendry's manhood and give it a ride? Can't remember exactly what happened, but I was sure she mounted him. So technically he's not a virgin on that incident alone, let alone that he may have partaken in revelry in King's Landing at some point. She still claimed she could sacrifice him right?
As sadistic as this show can be, I highly doubt they will burn Shireen alive - that goes too far.... and I think would offend a lot of viewers (including me). But you never know I guess... I mean they're developing her character right now for a reason.. something is going to happen.
Yeah even this show has a line, but I don't think doing it off screen is out of the question, but I don't see it happening. I think she is being used to develop Stannis mainly and right now it's does seem to provide a dark shadow on the horizon for Stannis.
Mel rode Gendry, tied him up and used three leaches to draw his blood. Stannis then sacrificed the leeches/blood to "assassinate" the usurpers (Robb, Joffrey and Balon Greyjoy) As for burning Shireen, they did show those dead kids that were supposed to the youngest Starks after Theon was done with them
Yeah and then he was in prison or something and Mel was trying to convince Stannis to let her burn him. So the virgin thing definitely doesn't apply to the sacrifice unless that's a plot hole. I think her question to Jon Snow about being a virgin was more about her setting up to seduce him. Anyway, I guess we can confirm that Jon Snow DOES have Kingsblood that counts because Mel flat out said she could produce a shadow baby with him. No spoiler there, she said it on the episode.
