Do the Martells make an appearance in A Clash of Kings? I'm guessing he wouldn't show up in the series until Season 3, provided there is one
I always saw the Martells as more swarthy, almost stereotypically Middle Eastern in appearance. Maybe someone like a slightly younger (or made up) Oded Fehr.
Jude Law is in no position to make salary demands. Look at his recent body of work. Game of Thrones might resurrect this already dying star.
Sherlock Holmes did pretty well, sequel coming out. No Jude Law slumming on TV unless there is a movie lockout.
That was all Mr. Ironman himself RDJ. Jude Law cannon over the last five years. Repo Men Sherlock Holmes The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Rage Sleuth My Blueberry Nights The Holiday Breaking and Entering All the King's Men Only one hit where he played a sidekick. Trust me when I say, that considering the buzz and acclaim Game of Thrones is garnering, Jude Law would work for a tad above scale if asked.
From Clash of Kings: "Beauty, they called her… mocking. The hair beneath the visor was a squirrel’s nest of dirty straw, and her face… Brienne’s eyes were large and very blue, a young girl’s eyes, trusting and guileless, but the rest… her features were broad and coarse, her teeth prominent and crooked, her mouth too wide, her lips so plump they seemed swollen. A thousand freckles speckled her cheeks and brow, and her nose had been broken more than once." So yeah, they might have to ugly her up a little bit, but she already has some of the features described.
New casting clue from GRRM! First part describes the role, the second the actor. A male role. Any ideas? I suck at these.
EW says Melisandre and Stannis have been cast: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/07/19/stannis-melisandre/ images: Spoiler
Those seem like great choices for Stannis and Melisandre. But when I read the books I'm going to keep imagining Mark Strong as Stannis.
I am sure Dillane has the acting chops for the job, but I have no idea what he looks like bald. Not everyone looks as intimidating as Mark Strong or Bruce Willis when they have no hair, some people just look unhealthy.
GRRM announced that it's Oliver Ford Davies playing Cressen http://grrm.livejournal.com/229097.html?thread=14353129#t14353129
Liam Cunningham is Davos Seaworth http://winter-is-coming.net/2011/07/davos-cast-and-cressen-confirmed/
He looks the part. Not that it's important, but I thought HBO and GRRM were hinting at some big name additions? I am content with these actors/actresses, but they aren't big names.
