Saw the last 20 minutes again and cept for one lapse they looked strong holding the lead and still getting chances. Great touches and ball control on display.
Blech. Again, a win is a win but there's really little excuse that these games are as close as they've been. Yeah, the competition is going to be a little more amped up to play the US but the energy for the US has been terrible. If they thought they were just going to roll through everyone, they were wrong. How do you think Panama feels about the US after what happened in the last game of WC qualifying? I realize we've already clinched a spot in the next round but I'd prefer to go through as the group winner. Panama is going to be pissed and they're going to play with everything they've got to try and exact some measure of revenge. Haiti is certainly better than I thought they were. They have some talent and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deeper run in qualifying this next time around. I can see where they would cause problems. They need to get more games though. I think the announcer said they've only played 2 other games this year. Jozy should not be in the starting lineup on Monday. He had an opportunity on his left in the 1st that a forward playing with confidence doesn't pass up. Had a clear path to the goal and he cut back to try and go to his right. He's lacing confidence in his ability to finish right now and that play showed it. Can't have a forward out there that's playing afraid to fail. I'd personally like to see Zardes up front with Dempsey.
