I went "modern era", and I was never told they had to be active. And I cheated, those are the top 2 position players and pitchers in WAR post WWII. I never would have guessed Seaver.
Seaver’s longevity is over looked because of Nolan Ryan. Go look at his last year with the White Sox/Red Sox in his 40’s, he was still good. He was drafted by the Dodgers and Braves. He was basically a Brave when the league voided they draft signing.
