Well everyone seems to think last season ended catastrophically, so if his "glue" only yielded a first-round exit, I'm not too worried.
Good article, terrible title. Reminded me of the movie where Terry Bradshaw showed his bare ass 3 times in one scene.
we shouldn't be comparing notes with the spurs. If daryl ran the spurs he trades tony P and manu with steve smiths expiring in the 2002 trading deadline so he can position himself to get super mega star corey maggatte to pair up with Tim. But keeping flexibility to acquire another supermegastar.
I know this is from earlier today, but this is a fantastic post. People that constantly compare us to the Spurs or hold up the Spurs model as the way "it should be done" need to read this carefully. Some results are the product of factors you cannot replicate. San Antonio did a lot of things right. They also had a lot of good luck along the way. If lose a coffee mug because you left it on the roof of your car, what is the likely hood of finding the original mug by replicating the scenario? Very unlikely, too many variables factored in.
I think some here would argue that had Morey ran the spurs, they would've won at least 7 champions by now.
But the problem lies with why are you trying to look for that mug when you should be concerned with leaving mugs on top of your car.
Very good point. Replace the mug. Make the new mug better, bigger, stronger, faster. Don't try to replicate things that worked in the past
For being a glue guy, I saw Harden and Parsons jawing back and forth with each other on the court several times last season including against the Blazers in the playoffs.
Parsons was the uniter, the glue guy and locker room leader. He will definitely be missed, but this just means we need someone or a bunch of guys to step up and fill those voids. And I am looking at YOU McHale, Howard AND Harden.
