I can't see the game, but Greg Smith is the Jeremy Lin of the Rockets. 4 blocked shots from the live box score.
If Smith sticks, Subway should get him to do endorsements for the $5 foot-long since his hands are one foot wide each.
For a team with only 1 shotblocker not named ThaBust, I never understood why Morey chose Adrien over Smith. It's not like there were a logjam at the C position like either the SF and PF spots.
Adrien was supposed to be the new and improved Ray Lewis with a basketball. Smith has a ton of potential but he's also one of the youngest/rawest players in the league, he's only 20-21. You saw it in this game, he had 4 blocks and 5 fouls in 10 mins.
Maybe he can be the white Chris Anderson and provide a bunch of explosiveness off the bench and foul out in 10 minutes.
His infatuation with finding 2nd round or undrafted undersized tweener forwards over more physically gifted players is dubious at best. Strike 1 - Mike Harris Strike 2 - Joey Dorsey Strike 3 - Jeff Adrien Rockets had a gaping hole for a big man that would not be fulfilled by 6'6"-6'7" tweeners. At 15-20 minutes a game, DeAndre Jordan or Greg Smith would have been nicer than Dorsey or Adrien.
This guy is dripping with raw potential, if the Rockets don't see it or can't develop it, send him to N.Y. too. He looked light years better than Adrien from the get go. I am really losing confidence in our brain trust's ability to see and develop talent. Hopefully, they will get this one right.
You guys are weak lol I've been on the Juiceman's bandwagon before anyone on here. He's taking the Chandler Parsons route. We better sign him long term.
He doesn't profile like Ben Wallace, he's a more efficient scorer but not as much of a rebound hound.
