And honestly, would you care to analyze how having a paint protector as fast and as quick as D-Mo available, who was hitting his three point shots at a 40+% clip for the last three months of the season, and also shoots 61% from the line, would have impacted the situation? It actually would have been a huge positive for Houston. I expect next season to see quite a bit of Rockets small ball featuring D-Mo at the 5. But there is no big in the NBA as competent as Green in the switch everything defense.
I'd take a look at CJ Watson for a cheap PG add. 6'2" PG - Pacers - 14/15 Salary: 2 mil 40% on 3s reg season 14/15 career 38% on 3's Scouting report + Steady, consistent deep-shooting threat + Just OK as a playmaker; better playing off others + Solid on-ball defender
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but I think if we let bev walk I would not be upset with just signing Llull and j. Lin on min contract.... Draft j. Grant and a project player...... Bring everyone back except for prigs and Dorsey..... And let the rest fight it out for the last roster spots..... I think that would be a really good team.... PG: Llull, J. Lin, N. Johnson, JET SG: Harden, J. Grant, KJ SF: Ariza, Brewer, K. PAP PF: T. Jones, DMO, J.Smith C: Howard, Capela Overseas prospect I think that's a really good roster and allows for future trades and moves to be made.....
Bring back Shaun Livingston solid vet with championship experience... Along with Sergio Lull and Patbev if he fits the dollarwise
I wonder what Houston thinks of a guy like Cory Joseph. He has improved every year in the league. He seems like a guy advance Stat users would gush over ( just a guess don't know for sure) wonder how he would fair next to JH?
Why not retain PatBev and do the rest of your list ?! If Lin is willing to accept the vet min you could have all three .... LLull & PatBev > Llull & Lin Retaining Bev does not affect your ability to make any of the other moves. It's the use of the MLE on Llull that reduces your options and makes it difficult to keep KJ McDaniels or Josh Smith.
If Rockets strike out on Llull, can't find a PG upgrade via trade, and don't feel comfortable with any rookie PG we may bring in, Watson is certainly the type of target I expect - low cost, decent AST:TO, has games where he can get hot, and a nice stroke from 3. Watson, Mo Williams, Darren Collison via trade if Sac goes Rondo/Lawson route, Cory Joseph. Personally, I'd go grab Aaron Brooks if he's willing to give it a 3rd shot.

I like it. He'd be good backup. Very underrated. Did well in NJ and Chicago too. Would be cheap as well.
