Assuming Houston does not pick up his option, can the team still sign him for less money afterwards? >_>

Sacramento is one of the worst passing teams in the NBA the last 3 years. Also a very poor overall 3pt shooting team (except Jimmer this year).

Garcia averaged around 39% for 3 straight seasons 2007-10. I think in a more team-oriented environment like the Rockets that likes to put up 3s, he'll do alright. Kind of like Delfino signing although we're definitely not keeping him beyond this season at 6M/yr.

Really? It seems like we wouldn't need to match salary when the salary we're using to match would have been cap room. Doesn't Garcia cost more than Patterson, Morris, Aldrich, and Douglass combined? It's just a bad contract, not one that other teams will be looking to take on so that they can get rid of their star players.

I'm hoping that the Garcia acquisition means that we'll be trading Delfino to the Bulls (in a deal centering around Rip Hamilton).

He's going to be the 2nd wing off the bench (after Delfino). Does that mean he's in the rotation? Probably, but it depends on the PF spot. I have a feeling Parsons will be playing the backup 4 minutes, and that increases the likelihood of Garcia playing.

He torched us every time I've seen him play. Has looked like an elite scorer at times.

This thread makes no sense. The trade was for a solve at the 4, not a back-up SG. We took Garcia because we had to.

Garcia is important because of the 6+ million in cap space he is definitely going to provide the team this summer.

Delfino can't do any of those things you mentioned.
