Is it possible that Francis could be #2 in the league in assists per game? I would say he should be in the top ten instead of his 13th place ranking. How often does NBA.com update their stats?
Player of the week stats say 9.8. League leaders still say 7.9 or so. Kidd has 10.1. It's just a guess.
Player of the week... think about it... it's for the week that he was player of, not the whole season. He averaged 9.8 for that week. ------------------ trade him. [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited January 24, 2000).]
hmm..good point. Is there a little graphical sheepish grin? Cause that's how I'm feeling about now. But he needs to start getting that assist average up as well as rebounding.
What d'ya mean, 'start'? I'd say that for the winning streak he already has, and I imagine he'll stay consistent in getting ~10 assists per game. Really, though, who cares about his personal stats, I mean they are already very good, especially for a rookie. The league has already took notice of him, so the only thing he needs is to play for a winning team. Talking about young talent, I read the Detroit article about Pippen and others (see another thread) and it mentioned how Vince Carter has upset his teammates for selfish play after being snubbed, with Toronto losing 7 of 10 games. I'd say Francis really is a league savior if they're looking for quality, explosive young talent.
Yeah, his assists are steadily climbing upward. And whats to complain about a 6'3" point guard who grabs 5 boards a night? Many of them offensive.
