the difference is beef and poultry is quite inexpensive compared to shark fin. trust me, you sell shark fin for $1.99/lb, nothing Yao does would affect the market (at least significantly). besides, alot of the people here who are "swearing it off" are likely not even having it once a month.

i'd like to add, i've seen countless vids of slaughterhouses and their killing methods and i still eat all the meats. maybe i've just become desensitized to the whole matter.

I am not trying to belittle Yao's efforts. I just wonder whether all animal rights advocates are vegetarians too. Anyway, this is a basketball forum afterall so I will not continue on this topic.

IMHO there is a difference in not wanting endangered animals extinct, and eating meat. But you are right lets not go into the subject. We have the D&D for that.

If you have read my post carefully, it has nothing to do with the endangered animal issues. I have also make the disclaimer that I was not trying to belittle Yao's efforts.

By not picking up the garbage can, that's a violation of the public's right to live in a cleanly environment, not a violation of the garbage can's right to stand up straight.
