The guy I thought of was Mark Aguirre. I had to look him up to find his height, but at 6'6" he averaged over 20 pts in a 13 year career. He could post up and score on almost anyone.....

Doesn't Morey know the first rule in basketball is you have to be tall. Jesus, John Lucas, Aaron Brooks, Hayes now this guy Harris. Next guy that Morey signs better be tall.

I don't know, seems decent to me. I don't know why everyone is talking about him as a PF (maybe I missed something), but he looks like a SF based on his highlights.

As a SF, putting up 12 pts., 7 rebs. and 1.5 blks. a game while shooting 62% in 23 min. is nothing to scoff about. Looks to me he has a decent all around game and is super athletic to boot.

Looks like a good move to me. Sign him to a cheap, NON-GUARANTEED contract. If he plays well, he makes it as a dirt cheap option at the end of the bench and, who knows, progresses enough to make a nice contribution to the rotation in a year or two. If he sucks it up, oh well, nothing lost.

You can sign anyone to a one- or two-year deal for the league minimum without salary cap implications. However, if the Rockets want to add a third year to Landry's deal (team option, of course), they'd need to see how their cap moves shake out first, since all league minimum deals three years or more in length count against the cap/luxury tax.

Thanks, Bimathug, that was a very informative post. It gives me a little relief that Harris is summer fodder and Landry will play.

If Mike Harris does explode and we keep him, we would have 19 players with contracts. This is not including a PF free agent with the MLE, which could make it 20 players.

Even if Sura and Spanoulis get bought out, that would leave 17 players.

Morey would only give Harris a contract, if he thinks there would be room for him and he can explode during summer league.

There would only be roster spot if we did a 3 for 1 deal and 9waive 2 other players or not bring back Mutumbo and Hayes).

Morey has got a trade up his sleeve. :)

    1 Alston
    2 Lucas
    3 Sura
    4 Brooks
    5 James
    6 Spanoulis
    7 Wells
    8 Head
    9 Snyder
    11 McGrady
    12 Battier
    13 Reed
    14 Novak
    15 Hayes(coming back)
    16 Landry
    17 Yao
    18 Mutumbo(coming back)
    19 Harris(non-guaranteed)

Tsakilidis is a FA that Morey has not talked about.

Id be a lot more excited if they said
"6'6" Small forward" instead of "6'6" Power Foward"

Does that mean that Tmac is our backup Center in case Yao goes down?

hell, even if he was a useless player, we'd be ecstatic if he was a 6'6 point guard. The guys in this forum small penis are obsessed with size.

"What? how could the announcer say Yao is 7'5? He's a legit 7'6!!!"
"What??? We drafted a 5'10 point guard!!!"
"What??? We drafted a power forward the same size as Chuck Hayes?? why didn't we get any of the bigger ones???"
"We need more size in our lineup!"
"We need more SIZE in our lineup!"
"Why don't we sign Darko so we can have TWIN TOWERS!!!" (that might be a little gay)
"We have the BIGGEST player in the league!!!! Our center is LONGER than the rest."
"Luther HEAD would be a good point guard if he was just a few INCHES longer!"
"WHAT!!! We traded GAY for Battier?"
"Let's try to trade for Chris WilCocks to bring some SIZE in our lineup!"
"Let's bring over Yao's teammate WANG zhizhi!"
"I love the penises!!!! I mean the Rockets!!!"

Freud would have an orgasm reading this forum.

you struck a soft spot with me when you said Gus Johnson. He went to my alma mater, the University Of Idaho. That guy was a tremendous athlete. At the local sports bar they had a nail that was over 12 feet high on a wood beam, it was called Gus's nail because he jumped up and grabed it back when he was at school at the U of I. If a shorter player is going to make it in the league he has to have a nose for the ball and great hops, We will see what he has to offer for free since the contract is not guaranteed.

Yo, got to say, most of the innuendos are weak stretches and some may sound dirty, but mean nothing at all. You people and your smut.

I demand this guy to be able to play all five positions to justify the non-guarenteed part of the deal!

Speaking of training camp bodies... Matt Haryasz is playing for the Spurs summer league team.

My guess is Dennis Lindsey has a Haryasz fetish.
