How come this guy a contract to be in the summer league and Landry isn't going be signed until the end of summer. You don't need a contract to be on the summer league team do you?

I am absolutely positive that someone would whine if we traded JLIII and a pack of gum for KG. Sounds like exaggeration but its reality. I think some people get off on complaining and sounding like they know better, which is fine, everyone can have their own opinions.

Maybe he has a big family? We are trying to sell preseason tickets?

this makes me question the addition of reed in the james deal.

reed isn't on the summer league roster. he hasn't been mentioned since the trade. now a competitor for the end of the bench 3/4 position gets signed...

I guess that adds a little intrigue behind adding him into the swap. but then again...what was reeds first name again?

Not to be a spoiler or anything, but I think everyone has a misconception that Smith plays PF. The dude is a SF, is that not obvious by his hops and decent perimeter game?

Oh and please chill out. This guy fills out the summer league roster with JL3's absence. No reason to freak out and crucify Morey....yet. Although I too am getting anxious with what we plan to do this offseason. At this point, only a good splash signing will redeem his mediocre standing amongst the fans.

KG is over the hill. He's played 82 games a year since he was 17 years old. He doesn't have much left in the tank. He'd have been great five years ago, but it's too late now. JLIII has his best days ahead of him, KG's best days are behind him. Morey is a terrible GM. BAD MOVE!

I listed Larry Johnson as 6-7, not 6'6. And that's still very under-sized for a power forward. Guys like Carlos Boozer have dropped to the second round because people feel 6-8 is undersized. And honestly, are you really going to tell me 6'6 is undersized but 6'7 is perfectly fine? One inch makes that big of a difference?

    And as for Rodman:

Here he is listed as 6-6,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rodman
Here again he is listed as 6-6,
    http://www.netglimse.com/celebs/pages/dennis_rodman/index.shtml
Here again he is listed as 6-6,
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005379/bio
Here he is listed as 6-7,
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rodmade01.html

Strangely, his height isn't listed at his nba.com bio at, http://www.nba.com/playerfile/dennis_rodman/

But I do know he's been listed at 6'8 before too. Personally, I don't think he was quite as tall as he was listed. He was so much smaller than guys like Karl Malone. Regardless, even at 6'8 he's undersized. Especially when you consider his weight.

Don't forget Vern Mikkelsen and Gus Johnson

Harris has the size and game of Honeycomb Johnson. Hopefully he'll bring some highlights in camp.

Why is Morey interested in him. Does he have a big rep in his league? or is it a hometown thing? Right now we need size and explosiveness, I don't see this being a very useful acquisition.

And yes, I do realize that there is essentially no risk, but still, why would you do it in the first place?

For the umpteenth time, as many posters have already exclaimed, Morey does this to fill out the summer league roster and as an observation for our depth at SF. All we have currently is Justin Reed and Novak. The 3 of them will surely be in the spotlight this summer.
It's better if you just ignore this as it neither takes away or alleviates your vaulted expectations. ;)

IIRC Harris did not play the 4 with the Bucks. More of a wing player.

Methinks Battier's days are numbered ;)

We have 4 guys that play SF or can.

    T-Mac
    Battier
    Reed
    Novak
Bonzi(but he will probably stay at SG)
