Is there any way that the 4 best players in the league could play a game...let's say one 15 minute game...and beat 5 of the worst players in the kleague?

So, assuming you have Chris Paul, Lebron, Kobe and Dwight Howard vs Ryan Bowen, Chuck Hayes, Sean Marks, John Lucas 3 and Quincy Douby.

Could the 4 best players concievably beat the 5 less than talented players.
It doesn't have to be specifically those 5 bad players I chose.
Feel free to come up with your own lineups.

Dude. It would be no challenge.

    Now...

3v5 would be a more balanced matchup.

Probably, but you would need four guys (or a rotation of a four man lineup) that could run the full court press all game long. If you had, say Wade, Kobe, LeBron, and Paul...plus some awesome backups, they would trouble them as the numbers advantage would be negated by the transition game.

Yes, mainly because, if it is a streetball game, a guy like John Lucas can catch fire where he normally wouldn't get the ball in an organized NBA game.

I was just throwing out the first 5 names I could think of for the worst players. I know Chuck Hayes isn't a top 5 worst player.

I don't think it would be THAT easy for the 4 best players.

There would be someone standing wide open for a three pointer EVERY single trip down the court for the 5 man team.
I'm not talking about 5 centers on this bad team. They get 2 guards, two forwards, 1 center.

The team really wouldn't have to guard Bowen or Hayes. I assume they would just play a zone. Howard patrols the paint while Kobe/Paul/James or Wade guard the outside. In fact I might take Wade over Paul in this scenario because of the amazing amount of length those players would have would make up for missing a player on defense.

Naturally. A team of 4 is not in a disadvantage if the skill level of the 4 is in another level compared to the 5 "scrubs". The game becomes a 4 on 4 because two of the scrubs would have to double team one of the stars. Now, if the referees call the game in favor of the 5 then that is another case. :)

Hayes is actually a really good pick for 5 worst considering him and Marks could only matchup against Howard, so they would be doubling the worst offensive player on the floor. And Hayes offers nothing offensively. Hayes is great in his role, but that wouldn't help in this case.

True. Hayes is indeed a one dimensional player. All defense with minimal to no offense. In this hypothetical game, It would not be wise to double team as all 4 players are good. I thought they could double team but zoning up would be best.

Note that the Lakers played significant periods of time without guarding Hayes at all in last year's playoffs. He does not deserve any respect on the offensive end and the Lakers had little trouble with his "stellar" defense either. It amazes me that Hayes has not improved his offensive game one iota ... I've taught 9 year olds to have more of an offensive game than Hayes. Can he not work on a 8 foot jumper? What a sad excuse for a professional basketball player!

This... wasnt there a player that dropped like 40 this summer league, and dropped 3 pointers from almost mid court line? When NBA players get hot, its hard to stop them
