Lowry is a monster, should be in MVP conversation, maybe even more deserving than Harden and has his Raptors #1 in the East with the best offense. All without Derozan and just pummeling great western teams. Dragic is having a very solid season, especially in December. Aaron Brooks playing 20 mpg for a contender, avering over 11 points while shooting .42 % from three!
I like all three of those guys. Glad ot see them doing well. Also, John Lucas III is really tearing it up on the Fujian Sturgeons.
Francis --> Alston --> Brooks --> Lowry --> Dragic --> Lin --> Beverley --> ? Average tenure of our starting PG since 2000: 2 years.
I never understood that trade, not at all! We are contending and you trade our veteran 3rd string PG for a ****ing newbie who played like ****. And then it bit us in the ass when we had injury problems and Lin...
It was a good move in hindsight. We needed an athletic wing defender. Caspi and Garcia were not cutting it and Brooks wasn't getting PT. Hamilton just didn't pan out. I'd do that move over and over again if we were in the same position.
We had no SF depth. We had too many PG's. Brooks was not getting any PT at the time. What is there not to understand? People say that hindsight is 20/20 for a reason.
Athletic wing defender, Hamilton, are you serious? Casspi and Garcia both did not get much opportunities and if they really wanted an upgrade, you would trade for a proven guy, not a newbie who didn't prove **** so far.
People never seemed to agree with me that Lowry was worth a max contract this offseason. It drives me crazy that we probably didn't even offer it to him. He's worth it.
Eh... I think part of the reason we traded Brooks was to give him PT so he could be an option in the FA market. Clearly his play in DEN helped get him a contract in Chi. In hindsight, clearly Hamilton did not work out. But can you really fault Morey? We needed wing depth direly, and Hamilton fit that.
Hamilton was supposed to be the athletic wing defender. He was young, arhletic and had good size. It was a risk worth taking. You can't always trade for a proven guy because you're going to give up fair market value more often than not. Morey never pays FMV for anything. Again, it was a good move at the time. Brooks was getting no play and nobody could've predicted injuries to Bev and Lin. If you followed Rockets basketball you would know Morey is the master of finding diamonds in the rough for cheap and flipping them for more later on. Unfortunately, Hamilton didn't pan out but it totally made sense.
actually, quite a number of people including me, predicted the injuries. There were plenty of injuries to both before, brooks got traded...no reason it would stop after.
Goran is a terrific scoring guard, Brooks an above average one Lowry is an allround talent John Lucas could be decent This biotch is on fiyah
He wasn't really a full-time starter for us. Sura was. So it should be: Francis --> Sura --> Alston --> Brooks --> Lowry --> Dragic --> Lin --> Beverley --> ? I remember many posters here thought Mike James was going to be a great PG for us.
