They were a 26 win team the year before Kidd got there, basically the same players and coach...

Great! You've officially crossed the line from unjustified Juwan-hater into "disrespecter" of due process. Fabulous.

If I Only Had a Brain

I could while away the hours
    Conferrin' with the flowers
    Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

    I'd unravel ev'ry riddle
    For any individ'le
    In trouble or in pain

With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
    You could be another Lincoln,
If you only had a brain.

Oh, I could tell you why
    The ocean's near the shore,
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more.

I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain.
I would dance and be merry
    Life would be a ding-a-derry
    If I only had a brain--Whoa!

OK Tinman, since you want to be the first to cast stones... how do you like these apples?

    LENGTH: 213 words

    HEADLINE: Cassell's court date picked

    BODY:
A Sept. 13 trial date has been set in Toronto in the misdemeanor assault case involving Timberwolves point guard Sam Cassell and former Milwaukee teammates Gary Payton and Jason Caffey, a Toronto court official said Tuesday. The trial is scheduled to take five days.

The three players are accused of assaulting two men and two women outside a Toronto strip club April 11, 2003, as members of the Bucks.

Payton is charged with three counts of assault, Cassell with two and Caffey with one. Wolves vice president of operations Kevin McHale and Cassell's lawyer, Edward Greenspan, did not return phone calls on Tuesday. Training camp is scheduled to start around Oct. 1, and Cassell shouldn't miss any time because of the trial.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the record, I have been a fan of Sam Cassell's since his first game as a rocket. His numbers prove that he wasn't the best point guard in the world at the time (less than 5.0 assist / game) but he could definitely shoot the lights out and had a lot of heart. When Dream was double teamed, Sam was almost money everytime to hit the mid-range jumper.

What I have a problem with is the way you constantly make crap posts about Howard and how we should trade him, when his career numbers have been equally as good as Sam's IMHO. Will Howard's numbers go down this season? Probably so, as he will be our 3rd option. Would Sam's numbers go down if he were on the Rockets? Most definitely for the same reason.

I would just love to see ONE post from you explaining why you hate Howard so much. Just make valid points so you don't get flamed by the rest of the group.

The funny thing is that Jack Haley (a.k.a. oilcan) is causing more people to be Juwan fans, whereas some of us might have been indifferent at first.

    LOL,
I remember this. Dude you know this probably all Gary Payton's fault for not paying for his lap dances!

    BGEE,

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
    since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
    We can try to understand
the New York Times' effect on man.

    Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
    you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high,
and if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
    I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.

Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
    Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah. Stayin' alive.

Sam Cassell is a bonafied bad-ass PG! No doubt about it. Even his rookie year. He did things that only those great players can do.

Fearless, individually talented, great team player, has a well balanced game, knowledgeable about the game, can score, can pass...etc, etc, etc...

Sam Cassell, will be a HOFer one day! It would be great if he could win another ring with KG; lets hope they don't knock out the Rox next year! But if they do, I'm rooting for Sam!

You mean aside from averaging 20 points and 7 assists with 2 different teams? Or maybe you mean besides leading his team to the playoffs darn near every year he has been in the league?

So he's "enshrined by the fans" along with such names as: Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Mario Elie, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Calvin Murphy, Hakeem Olajuwon, Ralph Sampson and Rudy Tomjanovich.

This in spite of only being here three years, and starting a grand total of seven games, and you think he's not getting enough respect from the fans?

Apparently Not. He outplayed everyone in the Western Conference and Steve still got the start over him. Steve had his worse year.

Also, some people here think that Marbury is better. Marbury is a CHEAP NEW YORK HOT DOG.

Sam would eat him up on the court!

I think tinman had more posts in the last few weeks than in the 5 years leading up to that...

    I like it, though :D.

This almost as bad as Nelson Mandella in the slammer.

Vernon is as Houston as Mattress Mack and Marvin Zindler and all the strip clubs near the Galleria!

I think tinman is overrating Cassell's contribution to the Rockets.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, pic me. Pic me.

If GMs had a crystal ball, where do you think Cassell would have been taken in the 1993 NBA draft?
