so I made a comment on a thread a while ago and it made me think... For fun during the Tmac and Yao era .. which player excluding Tmac and Yao would you wanna have on this current team My choice would be either Shane Battier or Carl Landry .. I honestly can’t decide out of the two .. prob Shane Battier because he would be a perfect staring small forward on this team! I would love to read peoples opinions!!! Edit: Added a poll
You know that’s true .. he would of been like draymon green except a tru warrior (see what I did there?) lol
Battier is the no brainer because he'd be Biglydick's eyes and ears on the court... Luis the Grease Scola would probably thrive in today's NBA...much more than the extension we lowballed him and gave away. Crafty, above avg shooter who wasn't a great defender but had enough on court awareness to make a team impact on both ends. We'd
Scola would be great for when this team can't seem to hit a 3 to save their lives and desperately needs a basket.
More reliable, smarter ball IQ, and can also switch everything too.... Him and Tucker... It's curtains for the Warrios no doubt.
Hard not to pick Battier, but with Tucker providing such a similar skill set I would go with Metta's attitude against the Warriors and Durant/Green/Cousins. More of a scorer, underrated 3pt shooter.
Artest shot a career high in 3's per game here and hit nearly 40%. He shot more per game than Battier ever did as a Rocket. Artest could play the 4 and help alleviate the rebounding gap. He played certain players, Like LeBron, better than Battier did. To me it's between him & Battier. But it's a tricky question. Batter is in the conversation almost solely due to IQ & coachability.
Hard to argue ... I just personally think Battier is one of the best defensive small forward in nba history .. Kobe was the only one who could still score on him I guess cause he knew this and always took it as a challenge
I would take prime Artest over battier Artest is an all star in his prime and he brings toughness to the team
