Good info but It’s more confusing to me than Westworld right now.

    Let Morey do his thing.

Don't forget that LeBron has a no trade clause. He can force Cleveland's hand. If he decides on Houston, he can say its either Houston or I walk. In one case Cleveland gets some assets back, in the other they get nothing. Houston might not have to give up as much as we think.

Another thing I just thought about. Income tax. I just looked up California's income tax. It is 13% when you make over $1 million. LeBron has stated he wants to be a billionaire. Just to use round figures, let say he averages 35 mil a year. He opts in and then signs a 5 year deal. 35 x 6 = 210 million x .13 = 27 million. So he would be sacrificing a ton of money to play in California.

This might be a big reason Chris Paul forced his way to a Texas team. We know he wants a max deal and max years. This is his last big pay day and he wants to get the most out of it. LeBron could end up doing the same thing. LeBron is also making 50+ million in endorsements per year, plus whatever capital gains he makes on investments. A Move to Texas would save him 50+ million over the next 6 years. No way would I play for a California team if I had a choice.
