Found an browser based online RPG football game called "Goal Line Blitz". It's free to create a player and it's pretty easy to get a hang of. Basically, you create a player and assign him to a position. Then you can sign a contract with a team and start playing in games and earning exp. You can "train" to increase your stats and get skill points when you level up to boost your stats and skills. It's something you don't have to spend a lot of time on if you don't want to, as a lot of it is automatic, but it's still fun to check out the game reports, change your training schedule, etc. There are leagues that are based all over the world, but you don't have to sign with a team in your area. I'm here in Houston and ended up signing with a team out of Stockholm, for instance. Plus, since the game is almost brand new there's very few high level players (highest I've seen is 7) so you can still get in pretty much on the ground floor. Anyway, if you're interested, check it out here. Like I said, it's free unless you want to own a team or purchase a level or two. Just a word of advice. When you create a player, do NOT sign your first few contract offers. Those are from CPU controlled teams and you can almost definitely earn more money by going onto the message boards and advertising yourself a little. Training costs increase as your level increases, so you need to save up your "money" early for later on in the game.
