Then I must have responded to a a post about nothing. Shame on me. 1. Where did I disagree or state that United were anything special?? 2. "Special EPL Clubs"? I didn't know this was a discussion about "special EPL Clubs". I didn't know the winner of a league each season had to be a "special club". United have had "special" seasons in years past. It doesn't happen every season for every title winner. 3. Holy moly! Where did I state that the EPL isn't weaker than in years past OR is stronger than years past? I didn't bring that into my discussion. I merely answered your silly statement that this was an "extremely average" EPL season and then your misguided decision to compare leagues based on how the league champion that season fares/fared in European competition. Man. United winning in a supposedly weak EPL devalues the championship for whom? For you?? Not sure UEFA really gives two craps about that. Not sure many other footy fans give a crap about that because they aren't merely relying on the performance of the champion in European competition as opposed to what they observe. A supposedly weak EPL will still be considered one of the top leagues in the world and a difficult league to win a title in despite the performance of the champion of said league in European competition. 4. Are you serious with your last sentence? Wow. 5 years ago English clubs were heavily involved in the latter stages of the Champions League. Two years ago Spanish clubs WERE NOT heavily involved in the latter stages of the Champions League. No one would claim La Liga was devalued because of that. Now when underperformance becomes REGULAR in Europe for a certain league, that's when one can make statements like you made. That's when UEFA take action and take back a Champions League spot from that league. Until then your point is incorrect, a bit silly and comes off as salty as to the EPL and Man. United.
Barca vs. Getafe in a few mins hopefully in a couple of hours we'll be putting more pressure on Madrid. They have a complicated game tomorrow versus Atleti
Dortmund vs. Bayern tonight, can't wait. This game will probably decide who wins the league title. I predict a 1:2 win for Bayern.
^This is why I could never play professional sports. I would lose my mind if someone ever did this to me. With all the cameras rolling...bad news. Plus I'm not that good at sports.
My thoughts man, when I see how some of the players get fouled in the ugliest ways, especially when the opponent just does it because he's frustrated...or when some players actually get spit on...I'd stand up after that and smack the phukk outta these guys and it wouldn't be funny because they'd need medical support.
That sucked. Mario Gomez must have lost the ball like 10 times. I wonder why there are no turnover/steal stats in soccer. He would lead the entire Bundesliga in turnovers, easily.
