    Friend of mine were having a debate about their favorite restaurants in Houston by type. Figured it would be interesting to see what people posted. Feel free to make up new categories!

    Tex-Mex: El Tiempo
    Mex-Mex: Hugo's
    Seafood: Partial to Goode Company seafood, but also like Liberty Kitchen
    Chain restaurant: Pappadeux's
    Greek: Niko Niko's
    Mediterranean: Fadi's
    Casual Date Night: Houston's
    Fancy Date Night: Mark's
    Japanese: Izakawa-Wa (very authentic style Izakaya other than the fact that they sell sushi too...and actually operated by Japanese people)
    BBQ: Killen's
    Steak: When I want to eat too much: Taste of Texas Otherwise, partial to Pappas Bros.
    "American": Ouisie's Table
    Burgers: The Shack (in Cypress)

    Could keep going, but welcome other folks' lists.

    Went to Hugo's yesterday and was pretty disappointed. Food was warm, wasn't fresh and there were flies/fruit bugs flying around in the dining area. Presentation looks nice, but if the food isn't good, doesn't matter.
