They DO want him out...that is why....HE IS OUT !!! Anyone not paying attention or missing this essential fact is: DD
I don't think the issue has been him playing within the system....the issue has been his effort level. I don't care whether he thinks he's the man or not...he just has to do what he's good at. I don't think you can ask him to check his ego at the door and then ask him to turn it on in the last minute of a game. He needs that massive ego in a way. All of these players have them. Problem with t-mac is that he's not a leader...he's too much wrapped up in his own head and issues. That's fine, we doesn't have to be a leader. He just has to do his job. Clyde Drexler was never a leader. Yet he was one of the big stars. T-mac can still be a star on this team while not being it's leader. But then Yao has to step up and claim that this is his team. Yao hasn't done that either.
Not me. I thought the McGrady trade in 2005 was a steal, and still do. But to be honest, I thought the Rockets should've explored trading McGrady a season or two ago, when his value was high. However, since then, the Rockets have done a great job building around him and Yao. This is still a potentially championship caliber team, and despite all the drama, there's no need to blow it up mid-season.
He's out because he can't play in consecutive games dude. Not because his teammates want him out. Enough already - you're speculating. I'm not going to assume anything.
Uh, he has been whining about touches, for 2 years...he is not playing within the system, he is fighting the system.....this is obvious. Ok, but the problem is he "WANTS" to be the leader, whereas the team doesn't respect him as one, nor want him as one. This is stupid, Clyde was the leader of Portland. That is EXACTLY what is happening now....and if Tmac will accept a back seat position, it will be fine, if not, he is out. DD
Yeah, whatever...you keep on drinking that Kool aide, when you want to join the adult table and deal in realities, let me know. Can't play in back to back games...ROFLMAO.....I mean honestly...that is some funny stuff. DD
It is not about that. He was EXTREMLY frustrated with his play this season. This is why. He wasn't making this team better...
If you think he was frustrated, how do you think his teamates felt that he didn't put the effort in to getting his mind and body right, but instead looked at the roster and said to himself "Hey, I can take a vacation and work myself into shape in season, because we are so good"..... Of course this is all at the expense of all of them that came into the season as professionals and busted their butts to get ready. Meanwhile, Tracy McLazy is fat, out of shape, afraid to jump and stands in the corner sucking his thumb and crying for more shots (even though hs is shooting Rafer like percentages)....and not only is he doing that he is pointing fingers at his teamates ....those same teamates who come to practice everyday (not Tracy) work hard to get better (not Tracy) and don't quit on each other during games (again, not Tracy). All this coming out, is probably about 10% of what is really happening......if you ever played organized sports or been a leader of a team or something like a team, you would have a deeper understanding of this...... He has one more chance...one.....and it is not in his former role, it is an all new....tertiary role, if he can accept it...great....if not.....he will be gone... Personally, I think he should be gone already....you don't placate a cancer, you cut it out.......addition by subtraction. DD
Clyde never led anyone to a ring either. He wasn't a leader - he was just the best player on a very talented team there in portland. He's too nice of a guy to lead. T-mac isn't a leader, he's just the best player on a very deep and talented team (or was until this season). Does t-mac want to lead? I think you are mistaken. He doesn't want to lead. He's never shown leadership. He wants the limelight. He wants to be well liked and respected. Because he feels he deserves it. He wants to be the hero. And he sulks when he doesn't get that.
Enough. That's enough. Let's wait for 2 weeks and then let's decide what to do after checking what he did during resting time. Whether you like him or not, he is our player. Let's keep faith and see.
That is why he is called Me-Mac. Not everything goes your way all the time. Swimming against the flow will always make you frustrated. Even sitting on the bench and not going either way produces better results. We don't expect him to be league leader. Get out and give it all that you have, even if its not your ideal system. The problem is he only wants to turn it on when he wants to, not night in and night out.
For insight read this thread, start on post 117 by Doc Rocket, and open your eyes... TMac is a problem.....a big cancerous problem. DD
I can respect your point mi.....but personally I care for the good of the organization, and not a talented malcontent, if he needs to go for the organization to move forward -see Orlando now - then so be it. I need to start an Ostrich club...so far, official membership would be. RocketsMac Tmac_1 Jeff Who New Yorker - errr...Sweet Lou 42 Anyone else? DD
no one is saying that, its just that houston didn't get exactly what they expected. i think most people thought we'd be legitimate contenders, which on paper we should be. all that being said, the season is only halfway done, the rockets have had a tough schedule, played the most games in the league up until this point, and are still in the hunt with makeshift lineups. all in all, its time to stop panicking. this thing can still work out. can you imagine tracy/artest/wafer getting to play just 30 games together?
