Its obvious the home owner put himself in the position at every turn. No need to throw him in prison for 10 years. Hell, the Pokeplayers didnt even report the incident ... their parents did the next morning.

I didn't read it, I heard about this incident elsewhere and I thought I knew the story. Turns out I heard it wrong.

According to the article, he claims self defense because the car sped towards him.

 

The weirdest thing about all of it is that the man is 37.

This story sounds glove fitted for a senile 70 year old, but the article says the dude is 37.

Even if it's a felony assault with a deadly weapon - the fact that the weapon was discharged is a minimum 20 years in prison for the State of Florida.

I am not sure why people think this guy should get a break and is above the law.

I dont think anyone suggested he should get a break and above the law. You seem like this very very angry person who feels anyone who disagrees with you should be punished immediately for any sin they commit.

There is a difference between "sinning" and committing a crime. This man shot at people in a car moving away and you think 10 years is too harsh.

It's just a typical double standard that it's ok to kill a black if they are dangerous and make a slightly incorrect move or error but that the white guy who fires his gun off into a car should get a slap in the wrist and his guns taken away (by the way if you commit a felony that's a given).
