I wonder if the Rockets can keep their composure? The game is still going to come down to whether Harden is a bricklayer or toilet bowl cleaner tonite. Harden shoot like ****...we lose probably.
I really feel that this is what exactly will happen. It will take the heat off the league in terms of complaints and it will make the analytics that Daryl has provided as subjective non sense and the players for Houston to be nothing but a bunch of whiners and cry babies
I have already said all I have to say about the horrible officiating from game 1 and Foster is a known penis-wrinkle. From now until the end of the game, I'm focusing all energy on the Rockets playing awesome and winning no matter what obstacles are in the way. Refs are out of our control now. We've done all we can about them, let's just focus on our game and not get shaken when the bad calls happen or don't happen.
It isn’t just “bad” officiating. They know damn well what they are doing and what they are calling and not calling.
i can see this angle but hard to say the track record supports it at the end of the day. but of course, well have to see it to believe it. That's a pretty big decision the NBA made here. They're under a huge microscope now, and they so happen to conveniently choose the rockets most hated official the very next day who hasn't done there game since being called out in February.
I would really like to know if the NBA did this to spite us or this really is just a coincidence in the referee scheduling?
I think that's the biggest problem. The front office has too much power, and the officiating crew/union dont have enough repercussions. I think there needs to be a better diaciplinary/award system. . . . On an aside: I see a bunch of people scoff and laugh because they recently found out that the Rockets (Morey) tracks refs with data. He studies tendencies and all that. But that's just ever so smart. He is a pioneer who is always looking for that sliver of an edge, and currently this is an edge we have others dont. Prior it was his analytics department. Baseball teams do this with umpire strikezones and tendencies also. It's just fuucking smart. Just like scouting an opponent your always trying to find an advantage. Instead, people mock him. But within 10 years all teams will be scouting refs with data. Ultimately, it will lead to a better system I'm sure because it puts refs under the microscope. Refs need to be under the microscope. Badly. Add a 4th ref to the court behind the play at all times and a 5th ref who is always in charge of reviews.
