What the Rockets are doing as an organization right now is about as big as any team has gone in challenging the officials situation. This is way beyond Cuban calling them out for a missed call on twitter. The downside here is that releasing that report was like a declaration of war. The NBA isn't going to lose that war. They've crushed people like Cuban for simple complaints. I can't even imagine what the league is going to do behind the scenes about this.
Yeah, idiots like Windhorst and Shelburn and even Lowe scoff in large part because they are dependent on the NBA for their careers and because Morey is a maverick. However, if Morey was the GM of the Lakers or Celtics, would people scoff? If the Rockets had 2-3 titles right now, would people scoff? The Rockets organization doesn't play along to get along and that ruffles some feathers. While I think Cuban can be an *******, I have always appreciated his willingness not to play the good soldier.
Its ridiculous that referees are getting this much run. Only thing the rockets can do is nut up and play
Allright i start to get positive about this. You know why NBA assigned Foster? Ratings are mad down from last year and this reffing debate has actually created a story line which engaged WHOLE NBA. And NBA does what? They ****in assign referee hated by everyone. You bet whole basketball world will be watching this game right now like that:
This. The NBA front office does not release the assignments before hand. There is no way to know that Foster was already assigned to the Rockets game 2 a week ago. Also, there is ZERO accountability for the league office and the officials. They openly meet with each other and discuss the games without recourse.... and what a surprise, the NBA promotes the officials that they prefer.
What do you think? What do you think the odds are that Foster will officiate the elimination game in this series?
Zeke was on Get Up today. He brought up when the league used to give Boston and LA all the calls against them. He mentioned this call that cost them a Finals. His message....play through it and win anyway. The next year they swept LA. Stop crying and go dominate.
The Nba, is turning into the WWE. All they need to do is make Vince McMahon the King of the Nba. Everyone knows the WWE has good guys and bad guys. Well Curry is the good guy. Harden and Cp3 is the bad guys. Having Warriors as a Chicago type Dynasty is good for business. Having Foster tonight creates more people watching to see what happens. All they need tonight, is have Foster dressed as a clown, and throwing a pie in Hardens face. Then saying your fired. ESPN would love it. Only people in Houston would care. If you like WWE, you should love the present day NBA.
Ah Game 2, getting him in early, so they can still throw him back out there for a game 6 or 7. Just like last year.
"Referee game assignments are made before a series starts. So, no, Scott Foster was not assigned in the aftermath of the Game 1 drama." This. So they should be able to tell us who's reffing the rest of the series?
You mean...the NBA knows which game will be the elimination game and has pre-ordained Foster to officiate that game? WOW! THIS JUST GETS CRAZIER BECAUSE IT MEANS ALL THE GAMES ARE FIXED AND THEY KNOW WHICH GAMES THEY WILL HAVE THE ROCKETS LOSE! OMG!
You and I both know what they will attempt to do long term. They were able to silence JVG after talking to him in private. They silenced Petrie after that Kings/Lakers game 7. They were eventually able to silence Cuban, although I have had some people tell me that he was able to make some meaningful changes. The league is going to try to ruin those on the Rockets that take a stand against the leagues controlling of officials.... there is a reason why Harden and Paul are being relatively quiet. I would like to know why we haven't heard anything from ownership. The only party that could survive is TF and I have heard ZERO from him on this issue. Obviously he gave Morey the budget to audit the games, but at some point the owner needs to go public.
This is one of those incidents where your like there’s no way it’s this blatant, but then it actually will be worse than you expect..
Would you rather that the Rockets just bend over and take the inevitable? The Rockets were not going to win a series with the way the last 2 series against the Warriors have been officiated.
