Has Fisher publicly stated that he's gonna stay with the Fakers since talking with Rudy? With Shaq's trade reportedly close to being and done deal with Miami, are the Fakers that appealing to D. Fish without Shaq?

I hate the Knicks and haven't watched them too much over the years except when the Rocks played em' but why is there so little interest or dialogue concerning Charlie Ward on this BB? What weaknesses in his game would lead one to believe he can't handle the PG duties in JVG's system? Anyone familiar with the state of Ward's game at the present?

If you eliminate #1,2,3,4 and 5, your list would be much better.

    riet,

as negative as you always seem to be, your opinion carries no weight. you almost never post ideas or suggestions, just continue to say na to this or that guy is a bust or will be a bust, blah blah blah.

Fisher is saying today that the Lakers are at the top of his list (Interesting that the Rockets are not even on the list):

    Fisher still eyeing return

Derek Fisher spoke with Tomjanovich on Friday, and the Lakers are still at the top of Fisher's list, according to his agent, Mark Bartlestein.

Bartlestein said Fisher is talking with a few teams but has not been made an offer yet.

Bartlestein wouldn't say what teams Fisher has talked to. But sources say the Celtics, the Bobcats and the Hawks are interested.

Fisher, 29, opted out of his contract June 23 and became an unrestricted free agent. He had two years at $3 million per season left on his deal.

Fisher sought a four-year extension, team sources said, but the Lakers balked.

Teams can start signing players Wednesday. Bartlestein said there isn't any urgency to get a deal done.

"When the deal is right," he said, "we'll get it done."

My list would look like this:

    1) Fisher-Only because of his playoff experience. Even though he's been playing with Shaq & Kobe, he's only averaged 4+ assists twice in his 8 year career. He's a shooter first & foremost.

    2) Damon Jones-Average FG%, very good 3pt%, & an excellent A/TO ratio. He came into his own last year &, at 28 y/o, seems ready to take the next step.

    3) Mike James-Really stepped it up last year. Excellent shooter, high ft%, better than 1 spg, & an almost 3:1 a/to ratio. He's a restricted FA, but we might be able to get Detroit to do a S&T for part of our TE & a conditional future #1 pick.

    4) Nick Van Exel-Average shooter, excellent 3pt shooter, & excellent A/TO ratio. Due to his age, he'd have to come here cheap.

    5) Charlie Ward-Excellent shooter, great A/TO ratio, better than 1 spg, & is very familiar with JVG's system. His main negative is his age (34 y/o in October).

    6) Brevin Knight-Average shooter, poor 3pt shooter, better than 3:1 A/TO ratio when he gets starter minutes, & averages almost 2 spg. Unfortunately, he's injury prone.
